Since its launch, the XPeng X9 has become China’s best-selling all-electric MPV over the past year, even surpassing the Toyota Alphard in sales. Today, the 2025 XPeng X9 made its official debut, with a pre-sale price starting at ¥399,800 and a market launch set for next week.

Although this is an annual refresh, XPeng has made a remarkable 496 upgrades to the X9, with 35% of its components newly updated.
On the exterior, the new XPeng X9 introduces three new paint options—Starship Grey (matte), Nebula Purple, and Galaxy Blue—bringing the total number of available colors to six. Whether for family adventures or professional use, these colors are designed to suit a wider range of preferences. All models now come standard with 20-inch Starlight floating wheels, featuring dynamic fixed-axis suspension technology for a more cohesive and premium look.

The interior has seen even more substantial upgrades.
The second-row zero-gravity seats now feature an open aisle design for easier access, and all seat control buttons have been upgraded with PVD chrome plating for a more refined tactile feel. Developed in collaboration with leading orthopedic experts, the upgraded massage function offers class-leading intensity. The third-row seats now support one-touch electric folding, making it easy to expand rear cargo space as needed.

Other cabin enhancements include a 10.8L voice-controlled electric refrigerator with both heating and cooling functions, and the largest entertainment screen in its class—a 21.4-inch display equipped with triple anti-pinch protection to maximize safety during use.

On the smart driving front, the entire 2025 XPeng X9 lineup now comes standard with the Turing AI Driving System. This system adopts a pure vision-based solution in place of LiDAR and includes the new AI Driving Blue Light(ADS indicator light) feature. XPeng has also optimized the vehicle’s NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) performance with 58 targeted improvements. The company reports investing over ¥50 million in R&D, and claims that the new model’s cabin sound insulation now surpasses that of the Toyota Alphard.

For existing owners, XPeng is offering a hardware OTA (over-the-air) upgrade program for existing X9 owners. Eligible customers can visit authorized service centers to upgrade key features such as the seats, AI Driving Blue Light(ADS indicator light), and sound insulation—for a fee. Full details of the upgrade program will be announced at the official launch event.
