This afternoon, CATL officially held its first "Super Tech Day."

At the conference, CATL launched three significant power battery products: the Sodium New passenger vehicle power battery, the freevoy dual power battery, the second-generation Shenxing superfast charging battery, and a battery product called Naxtra 24V start-stop battery for heavy-duty trucks.

Let's delve into the core strengths of each product.

1、Naxtra Battery

The Sodium New battery comprises two categories: Naxtra passenger vehicle power battery and Naxtra 24V start-stop battery for heavy-duty trucks, with mass production scheduled for December 2025 and June 2025 respectively.

Naxtra passenger vehicle battery boasts an energy density of 175Wh/kg, supports a peak charging rate of 5C, and offers a 500km range, with a lifespan exceeding 10,000 cycles. CATL claims that this product can maintain 90% of its available power even at -40℃. Under extreme conditions where only 10% power remains, the vehicle's power won't significantly decrease at-40℃.

Naxtra 24V start-stop battery for heavy-duty trucks from CATL has a service life of over 8 years, reducing the total life-cycle cost by 61% compared to traditional lead-acid batteries. It supports full - capacity deep discharging, one - button starting at -40℃, and can still start after being idle for a year.

2、Freevoy Dual Power Battery

CATL freevoy dual power battery pioneers the "electric - electric range extension" technology, which intelligently adjusts the allocation strategy of the two energy zones based on the vehicle's driving status and user habits.

The main energy zone can be adapted to different cell chemistries according to user habits and scenarios, meeting daily driving needs; the range-extending energy zone uses high-specific-energy self-generated anode technology to provide more power for long-distance travel.

At the launch event, CATL introduced three dual - core solutions:

  • Sodium - Iron Dual - Core Battery: Combines Naxtra battery with a lithium - iron - phosphate self-generated anode battery, leveraging Naxtra battery's low - temperature performance to deliver an extreme UX that goes beyond low temperatures for longer voyages.

  • Iron - Iron Dual - Core Battery: Pairs the second - generation Shenxing superfast charging battery with a lithium - iron - phosphate self-generated anode battery. It can easily achieve a 1,000km pure - electric range in vehicles with a wheelbase close to 3m, reducing commuting costs to just 0.1 yuan per kilometer.

  • Ternary Iron / Dual Ternary Dual - Core Battery: Combines a ternary battery with a lithium - iron - phosphate self-generated anode battery. The main energy zone ternary battery has a peak charging rate of 12C, providing over 1 megawatt of strong power. Even at 20% power, it can still output over 600kW. The upgraded Xiao Yao "Dual Ternary" Dual-Core Battery, combining a ternary battery with a ternary self-generated anode battery, can exceed 180kWh in a 3m - wheelbase sedan, with a pure - electric range surpassing 1,500km.

3、Second - Generation Shenxing Superfast Charging Battery

CATL's second-generation Shenxing superfast charging battery is the world's first lithium-iron- phosphate battery to offer both an 800km range and a peak 12C ultra-fast charging speed. With a peak charging power of 1.3 megawatts, it enables imperceptible energy replenishment of 2.5km per second. At -10℃, it can charge from 5% to 80% SOC in 15 minutes.

Moreover, the second-generation Shenxing superfast charging battery delivers strong power across all temperature ranges and SOC intervals. Even in a low - power state, it can output 830kW; at -10℃ and in a low - power state, it still meets the power requirements for 100km acceleration.
