Recently, the renewal insurance issue of Xiaomi SU7 has sparked heated discussions online.
Some car owners have reported on social media platforms that they encountered difficulties when renewing the insurance for their Xiaomi SU7. There were even rumors that multiple insurance companies had refused to renew the insurance. Some owners claimed that the insurance premium quotes had soared to nearly ten thousand yuan.
A screenshot of an internal document from a certain insurance company that was circulating online showed that the accident rate of the Xiaomi SU7 had reached six times the average of similar-priced models. The document claimed that the company had decided to stop accepting new insurance applications, renewals, and additional coverage for the Xiaomi SU7 starting immediately.

However, on the evening of April 7, a spokesperson for Xiaomi issued a statement, clarifying that these rumors were "completely baseless."
Xiaomi has confirmed with its partner insurance companies, including People's Insurance Company of China, Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Company of China, China Pacific Property Insurance Company, Sunshine Property and Casualty Insurance Company, and China Life Property and Casualty Insurance Company. All these companies stated that they had never issued any rejection notices, and the related documents were completely forged. In addition, Xiaomi also pointed out that the claim that "the accident rate of the SU7 is several times that of similar-priced models" was entirely unfounded.

Why did such rumors spread so quickly? This makes people associate it with the recent frequent accidents involving Xiaomi.
On March 29, a high-speed collision and explosion accident involving a Xiaomi SU7 occurred in Tongling, Anhui, resulting in three fatalities. This incident has drawn significant public attention to the safety of autonomous driving. It has also made the accident rate and safety of the Xiaomi SU7 a focal point of public discussion.
