Seres’ Overseas Brand DFSK Launches E5 Plus in Egypt

DFSK‘s operations span over 70 countries and regions and has a global network of more than 1,000 sales and service outlets.

On December 22, Kang Bo, Vice President of Seres Group, said that DFSK, the group’s overseas brand, recently held a product launch event near the Great Pyramid of Giza in Cairo, officially entering the Egyptian market with its strategic model E5 Plus alongside two newly introduced vehicles.

DFSK has been active in overseas markets for more than 20 years, with operations spanning over 70 countries and regions and a global network of more than 1,000 sales and service outlets.

In regions such as South America and Southeast Asia, DFSK has long ranked among the leading Chinese brands by export volume.

DFSK’s international expansion began in 2005, initially focusing on commercial vehicles. The brand entered the passenger vehicle segment in 2016 and started a systematic rollout of NEVs in 2018, continuously iterating products to meet the needs of different markets.

E5 Plus

The E5 Plus unveiled in Egypt is known in China as the Landian E5 Plus. The first-generation model was launched domestically in October last year, followed by two updates.

On December 3 this year, the third-generation version was officially launched in China, with a starting price of RMB 139,800 ($19,572).

As DFSK’s first overseas strategic new energy model, the E5 Plus international version rolled off the production line in October at Seres’ Shuangfu plant in Chongqing.

It made its overseas debut in Ecuador on November 17 and was officially unveiled again in December at the Thailand International Motor Expo, where it is priced between 799,999 and 859,999 Thai baht ($25,460-$27,370).

The E5 Plus is powered by the Seres Super Hybrid system, featuring a 35.95 kWh high-capacity battery paired with a 1.5-liter engine and a 160 kW electric motor.

The model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, with fuel consumption of 4.9 liters per 100 km in charge-sustaining mode.

The long-range version offers up to 230 km of pure electric range and a combined range exceeding 1,300 km with a full tank and full charge.

E5 Plus

Notably, in April this year, Kang Bo announced that AITO, the Seres–Huawei joint brand, had also officially entered the Egyptian market.

According to disclosures, AITO will form a strategic partnership with local company Kasrawy Group to jointly develop products and sales channels in Egypt.

In recent years, Seres has accelerated its overseas expansion, with operations now spanning multiple countries and regions across Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, and Africa.

In Europe, the group has entered markets including Norway, Germany, the UK, and Switzerland, completing the initial phase of its overseas layout, with global cumulative exports exceeding 500,000 vehicles.
