The 2026 APEC Trade Ministers Meeting is one of the highest-level economic and trade diplomatic events hosted by China as this year’s APEC chair economy.

This also marks another major international conference appearance for the all-new ES8 after it previously served as an official designated vehicle for the 8th China International Import Expo in November last year.

For many years, official transportation fleets for large-scale international events were largely dominated by traditional luxury combustion-engine vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW.

Now, new energy vehicles are increasingly entering this segment, particularly large SUVs and MPVs.

The ES8 itself has also become one of the most representative models within NIO’s product lineup in terms of brand positioning.

Official data showed that ES8 retail sales reached 13,020 units in April this year, accounting for nearly 70% of NIO’s core-brand sales and approximately 44% of the company’s total deliveries.

In China’s above-RMB 400,000 ($58,840) segment, that performance is considered significant.

Particularly in the large SUV category, the market had long been dominated by models such as the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE and Audi Q7.

However, the NIO ES8 has now ranked first in sales for both the large SUV segment and the above-RMB 400,000 ($58,840) market across all powertrain types for five consecutive months.

Today, NIO Assistant Vice President of Operations Yang Bo revealed that the all-new ES8 will reach its 110,000th delivery this week.

The milestone comes less than one month after the model surpassed 100,000 cumulative deliveries on April 23.
