With the deepening of the dealership model, NIO’s pace of global expansion is set to accelerate further.
Recently, media reports revealed that NIO Group is expanding its business in Armenia in cooperation with a local dealer. Informed sources disclosed that NIO has already begun its business operations in Armenia.
Although NIO has not yet officially announced its entry into the Armenian market, the company’s local operations have already commenced.
N-Motors, NIO’s partner dealer in Armenia, stated on its LinkedIn homepage that it is the “exclusive dealer of NIO in Armenia, proudly representing NIO and its sub-brands Onvo and Firefly.”

Armenia’s electric vehicle market is currently in a phase of rapid development.
Data shows that from January to August 2025, pure electric vehicles accounted for 27% of all newly registered vehicles in Armenia. Import statistics are even more striking, with figures from the State Revenue Committee indicating that electric vehicles make up over one-third of all imported vehicles. This data also sheds light on why NIO has chosen to enter the Armenian market at this time.
The entry into the Armenian market represents the latest step in NIO Group’s global strategy. It is reported that in Armenia, NIO has adopted a local dealer partnership model, which aligns with the company’s strategy in other new global markets.

From direct sales to dealerships, NIO’s overseas expansion model is undergoing changes. NIO’s shift towards a traditional dealership model for entering new markets aims to achieve faster expansion and reduce costs. According to Qin Lihong, President of NIO, the company has signed or is about to sign agreements with more than 20 national dealer partners.
Currently, NIO Group’s global footprint already covers more than ten countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. With the deepening of the dealership model, NIO’s pace of global expansion is set to accelerate further.
