IM Motors Achieves First Full-Cost Profitability in December, Plans LS8 Launch in 2026

IM Motors achieved consecutive quarter-on-quarter sales growth in 2025 and recorded monthly sales above 10,000 units for four consecutive months.

On December 25, IM Motors released an internal letter to employees marking its fifth anniversary, reviewing its operating performance in 2025 and outlining product and technology plans for 2026.

The letter said IM Motors achieved consecutive quarter-on-quarter sales growth in 2025, recorded monthly sales above 10,000 units for four consecutive months, and delivered its first-ever profitability on a full-cost basis in December.

In terms of sales performance, IM Motors maintained relatively stable momentum in the second half of 2025.

Deliveries reached 13,577 units in November, while cumulative sales for the first 11 months of 2025 totaled 69,199 units, up 20.35% year on year.

In 2025, IM Motors achieved multiple technological and market milestones. On the technology front, its Stellar Super Range Extender system was introduced for the first time, addressing key user pain points associated with NEV usage.

On the product side, the new-generation IM LS6 became a best-selling model in the RMB 200,000 ($28,000) segment, while the launch of the flagship IM LS9 supported the brand’s move upmarket.

Alongside the expansion of its sales channels and service network, the company also advanced its global strategy, successfully entering markets in Southeast Asia, Europe and Australia.

The IM5 and IM6 models were launched simultaneously overseas, with order intake exceeding expectations.

At the ownership level, parent company SAIC Motor announced on Tuesday that IM Motors’ shareholding structure had been adjusted from fund-based ownership to direct group ownership, providing clearer support in terms of resource coordination, decision-making efficiency and long-term investment.

Looking ahead to the next phase of product launches, IM Motors CMO Li Weimeng said at the five-year milestone that multiple new models will be introduced in 2026, including the IM LS8.

For 2026, IM Motors said it will continue to focus on “brand elevation and technological breakthroughs,” with plans to accelerate the mass production of steer-by-wire chassis systems, promote the scaled deployment of L3 conditional autonomous driving, further enhance its product portfolio, and expand its overseas market presence.
