The two parties will jointly develop new energy vehicle models covering various powertrain forms such as pure electric and range-extended.
On December 25, CATL Times Intelligence, the subsidiary of CATL focusing on intelligent chassis, officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with IAT.
According to the agreement, CATL will provide the Bedrock Chassis product, covering technology development and production, while IAT will supply highly compatible upper body product design and vehicle integration technologies.
The two parties will jointly develop new energy vehicle models covering various powertrain forms such as pure electric and range-extended.

The core product provided by CATL in this cooperation is the “Bedrock Chassis,” which was unveiled at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show.
The Bedrock Chassis employs CTC (Cell-to-Chassis) technology, highly integrating modules such as the battery, motor, electronic controls, steering, and braking. Its decoupled architecture separates the upper and lower body, supporting flexible development.
Officially, the chassis boasts high safety performance, capable of withstanding a side pole impact at 120 km/h without fire or explosion. It can also reduce the traditional 36-month R&D cycle to 12–18 months, significantly lowering development costs.
Currently, the Bedrock Chassis has established collaborations with multiple companies, including AVATR, BAIC, and JAC, and is exploring the commercial application of Robotaxi with T3 Go.

As the other party in this cooperation, IAT is a leading enterprise in China’s automotive design field, having developed nearly 500 vehicle models for clients, including multiple mainstream traditional automakers and NEV startups.
In this collaboration, IAT will leverage its expertise in upper body product design, vehicle integration, and engineering development to provide highly compatible upper body solutions for the Bedrock Chassis.
