The new ES8 was unveiled at NIO Day on September 20, 2025, and deliveries began the following day. It exceeded 10,000 units delivered within 41 days.

By December 29, 2025, the model had reached 40,000 cumulative deliveries in 100 days, making it the fastest model priced above RMB 400,000 ($57,960), regardless of powertrain type, to hit that milestone.

Entering 2026, deliveries have continued to accelerate. In February alone, the new ES8 reached 60,000 and 70,000 cumulative deliveries in Guangzhou and Wenzhou, respectively.

From a sales mix perspective, the ES8 has become a core pillar for NIO. In February, NIO delivered 20,797 vehicles in total, of which the ES8 accounted for 11,260 units, or 54.1%.

Since December 2025, the model has ranked first in both the large SUV segment and the over-RMB 400,000 ($57,960) category for three consecutive months, while also leading the three-row SUV segment across all powertrain types.

As ES8 deliveries continue to scale, NIO recently reported its fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 financial results.

The company achieved an operating profit of RMB 1.25 billion ($181.13 million) in the fourth quarter, marking its first quarterly profit.

During the same period, ES8 deliveries approached 40,000 units, accounting for about 31.8% of total sales, with a per-vehicle gross margin nearing 25%.

The strong ramp-up of these high-margin models lifted the company’s overall vehicle gross margin from 14.7% in the third quarter to 18.1%.

Looking ahead to 2026, NIO CEO William Li said the company plans to launch three new models this year, including the ES9, the ONVO L80, and a new-generation ES7 based on the same platform as the ES8.
