On April 8, Denza, the luxury brand under BYD, held its European launch event in Paris.

Denza initially introduced three models: the Denza Z9GT DM-i super hybrid, the all‑electric Z9GT, and the Denza D9 DM-i.

Among them, the Denza Z9GT became available for pre‑order simultaneously on Denza’s official websites in seven countries, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, immediately after the launch event. The hybrid version starts at a pre‑sale price of €101,000 (approximately RMB 805,000), while the all‑electric version starts at €115,000 (over RMB 917,000).

As the brand’s flagship shooting brake, the Denza Z9GT is equipped with BYD’s e³ technology platform. The all‑electric version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, and with independent rear‑wheel steering, it can perform maneuvers such as “compass turning” and “crab walking” in tight spaces.

As for the flagship MPV D9 DM-i, its price has not yet been announced. The model delivers an all‑electric range of 210 km and a combined range of 950 km on a full tank of fuel and a full battery.

At the launch event, BYD’s flash charging technology made its European debut as another highlight. Based on BYD’s second‑generation blade battery, it has a maximum charging power of 1,500 kW. With this technology, the Denza Z9GT can charge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in only 9 minutes.

The European debut of the Denza Z9GT and D9 marks an important step in Denza’s global expansion. BYD currently positions Denza as its high‑end brand for the European market, with an initial plan to launch four models: the Z9 GT, B5, B8, and D9.

In terms of channel development, the company revealed that by the end of 2026, Denza plans to cover more than 30 European countries and establish over 150 retail stores. Regarding charging infrastructure, BYD will build 6,000 overseas flash‑charging stations worldwide, of which 3,000 will be in Europe.

In 2025, BYD’s new vehicle registrations in Europe reached 187,657 units, a year‑on‑year increase of 268%, raising its European market share to 1.4%.

From a global perspective, BYD sold 4.6 million vehicles in 2025, ranking fifth among global automakers in sales volume. Denza itself sold 157,134 vehicles in 2025, a 24.7% increase year‑on‑year.
