Firefly Launches “Aster” System, Rolls Out Version 1.1.0 Upgrade Simultaneously

The 1.1.0 upgrade covers four key areas—smart cockpit, voice assistant Lumo, intelligent driving, and overall vehicle experience—adding or optimizing over 70 functions.

On August 8, Firefly officially launched its self-developed smart cockpit and assisted driving system “Aster,” while simultaneously rolling out the Version 1.1.0 upgrade.

This upgrade spans four major areas: smart cockpit, voice assistant Lumo, intelligent driving, and overall vehicle experience, with over 70 newly added or optimized features.

The name “Aster” is derived from a flower, continuing Firefly’s consistent naming style. The system is underpinned by core technology from NIO and is built on the CCC central computing platform, utilizing a unified central domain control architecture with communication latency under 1 ms. It supports collaborative tuning and coordination across six major control domains, including powertrain, intelligent driving, and cockpit.

In terms of UI interface design, thanks to deep integration with NIO’s SKY OS and high-performance chips, Firefly’s in-vehicle system response time has been reduced to 100 ms.

The system also offers scenario-based optimizations for functions such as blind-operation interaction, volume adjustment based on driving speed, and turn-blind-spot video feed, enhancing both driving convenience and safety.

The intelligent companion Lumo integrates NOMI GPT capabilities and is equipped with an AI large language model, supporting recognition of long command strings and personalized customization. Paired with a 7.1 Dolby Atmos sound system, it delivers an immersive audio experience.

In the field of assisted driving, Firefly is equipped with 24 perception hardware units and leverages NIO’s mature algorithms to deliver the first cross-domain integrated, full-chain intelligent imaging experience in the small-car market. Its City NOP intelligent pilot assist supports functions such as automatic lane changes and on/off-ramp navigation, while even novice drivers can easily handle tight parking spaces with the “one-click parking” feature.

The 1.1.0 upgrade introduces improvements across smart cockpit, intelligent driving, voice interaction, and full-vehicle experience, such as speed-compensated volume control, a built-in dashcam, and turn-blind-spot imaging. It also comes with a dedicated in-car USB drive, providing a complete usage loop for customers.

Since its market debut, Firefly has achieved over 10,000 deliveries within three months and has earned an all-excellent rating in China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI) crash tests.
