MIIT Public Notice Lists Tesla Model Y L with 751km Range

The battle for the second half of 2025 is about to begin.

On August 8, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) officially released the public notice for the 20th Batch of the Catalogue of New Energy Vehicle Models Exempt from Purchase Tax.

The list reveals range figures for a host of soon-to-debut popular models, including the Tesla Model Y L, AITO M8 EV, Shangjie H5, and STELATO S9T. Key data highlights are as follows:

Tesla Model Y L

Only one variant has been filed. The vehicle has a curb weight of 2,088 kg, is equipped with an 82 kWh battery pack, and offers a range of 715 km.

According to MIIT data, the Model Y L measures 4,976 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,668 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,040 mm—150 mm longer in wheelbase, 179 mm longer in overall length, and 44 mm taller than the standard Model Y.

It features dual-motor all-wheel drive, with front/rear motors producing maximum outputs of 142 kW and 198 kW respectively, for a combined output of 340 kW (around 456 hp) and a top speed of 201 km/h.

STELATO S9T

Two versions are filed, with curb weights of 2,302 kg and 2,439 kg, equipped with a 97.6 kWh battery pack, offering 801/765 km and 701 km of range respectively.

According to MIIT data, the STELATO S9T measures 5,160 mm in length, 2,005 mm in width, and 1,492 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm—only 6 mm taller than the S9 range-extended version. The pure electric S9T offers both RWD and AWD configurations, with single-motor output at 227 kW and dual-motor output at 385 kW.

AITO M8 EV

Two variants are filed, with curb weights of 2,670/2,715 kg and 2,555/2,600 kg. Equipped with a 97.644 kWh battery pack, they deliver ranges of 655/625 km and 705/675 km respectively.

According to MIIT data, the M8 EV measures 5,190 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,795 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. The new model offers both five-seat and six-seat layouts, and adds a powered front trunk. Powertrain options include a single-motor version at 227 kW and a dual-motor version at 160 kW/227 kW.

Shangjie H5

Two versions are filed, with curb weights of 1,985 kg and 1,960 kg, equipped with 64.6 kWh and 80 kWh battery packs, delivering 525/535 km and 640/655 km of range respectively.

According to MIIT data, the Shangjie H5 measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,664 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. Both versions are single-motor, producing 150 kW and 180 kW respectively.
