AITO M8 BEV Officially Announced for August Launch, New “Midnight Purple” Color Unveiled

On July 18, AITO officially released images of the battery electric vehicle (BEV) version of M8 in a brand-new exterior finish and confirmed that the model will make its official debut in August.

The M8 BEV introduces a fresh “Midnight Purple” colorway, developed using top-tier automotive paint technology. The finish is deeply saturated and visually striking, delivering a highly distinctive aesthetic.

According to earlier leaks, the M8 BEV continues the signature design language of the AITO lineup, with dimensions measuring 5,190 × 1,999 × 1,795 mm (L x W x H) and a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. The model will be available in both five- and six-seat configurations and continues to offer a spacious front trunk.

While maintaining its spacious interior, the M8 BEV has made notable gains in energy efficiency. Equipped with CATL’s 100 kWh battery pack, the model achieves a maximum CLTC range of 705 km—slightly higher than the XPeng G9’s 702 km and significantly ahead of the NIO ES8’s 605 km. Among large SUVs over 5 meters in length and 3 meters in wheelbase, the M8 BEV stands out with this level of range performance without compromising interior space.

In terms of charging capabilities, the M8 BEV is built on Huawei’s 800V high-voltage platform and supports high-power fast charging. It also features the latest HUAWEI‘s Advanced Driving System (ADS) 4.0, including a 192-line LiDAR sensor and multiple perception modules. The vehicle supports L2+ advanced driver assistance, with notable upgrades in both smart driving functionality and energy replenishment efficiency.

It’s worth noting that although AITO’s presence in the pure electric segment has been relatively low-profile, the M8 BEV serves as a strategic enhancement. It builds upon the intelligent features and spacious design of the current range-extended version, while significantly advancing its pure electric capabilities and technical highlights.

According to official data, the AITO M8 delivered over 20,000 units in June, making it the top-seller in the RMB 400,000 price segment. The introduction of the M8 BEV is expected to further expand the AITO brand’s momentum in this market.
