NIO has reduced the price of its 100 kWh long-range battery pack from $17,800 to $15,000, with corresponding vehicle purchase prices decreasing by $2,780 accordingly. Additionally, the Battery as a Service (BaaS) fee remains unchanged.
On August 19, NIO announced a price adjustment for its 100 kWh long-range battery pack.
Effective immediately, NIO will adjust the pricing of its 100 kWh long-range battery pack (compatible with both 400V and 900V platforms) as well as the starting prices of corresponding vehicle purchase packages.
The price of NIO’s 100 kWh long-range battery pack has been reduced from ¥128,000 to ¥108,000. All new vehicles purchased with this battery pack will see their prices decreased by ¥20,000 accordingly. Note: The battery rental service fee remains unchanged.
Simultaneously, the permanent upgrade fee for the 100 kWh battery pack has been lowered from RMB 58,000 ($8,070) to RMB 38,000 ($5,290). Users who completed permanent battery upgrades between January 1 and August 18, 2025, will receive RMB 20,000 ($2,780) renewal vouchers, applicable as direct discounts when purchasing any NIO model.

NIO has also updated compensation measures for users awaiting delivery and existing owners who took delivery this year.
For customers with undelivered 100 kWh battery-equipped vehicle orders, NIO will honor the new pricing at delivery. Existing owners who took delivery in 2025 will be issued $2,780 renewal vouchers.

This price adjustment marks a strategic deepening of NIO’s Battery as a Service (BaaS) model following the launch of the new ES6/EC6 in May, aimed at further lowering the entry barrier for vehicle ownership and enhancing market competitiveness.
Simultaneously, the move extends NIO’s 2025 “Technology Accessibility” pricing strategy, synergizing with recent multi-model initiatives.
Driving this shift is technology-driven cost reduction – the NT3.0 platform achieves 75% component commonality, while in-house developed 5nm Orin X chips lower smart hardware costs. This creates profit margin space for battery concessions, enabling NIO to reconstruct cost structures and boost the price-performance ratio across its vehicle matrix.
