It took BYD just over two months to move from 13 million to 14 million NEVs.
On October 10, BYD marked a new milestone as its 14 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) rolled off the production line at the company’s plant in Camaçari, Bahia, Brazil.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva attended the ceremony in person and received the milestone vehicle, which was handed over by BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu.

The model that marked this occasion was the BYD Song Pro, a super hybrid vehicle tailored for the South American market, featuring a special COP30 Edition to commemorate the upcoming 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference.
Equipped with BYD’s latest hybrid technology, the Song Pro achieves a balance between fuel efficiency and power performance, designed to meet Brazil’s diverse energy mix and complex road conditions.
Speaking at the ceremony, Wang Chuanfu noted that BYD has been present in Brazil for over 11 years, now serving more than 170,000 local customers. The company has also ranked as Brazil’s best-selling new energy brand for two consecutive years.

From the first NEV to its one-millionth, BYD took 13 years to reach the milestone. In November last year, the company rolled out its 10 millionth NEV—a Denza Z9—becoming the first automaker worldwide to achieve this record.
It took approximately eight months for BYD to move from 10 million to 13 million NEVs, but only a little over two months to go from 13 million to 14 million units, underscoring the accelerating pace of its global production.
In July, BYD’s Camaçari plant celebrated the rollout of its first locally produced model, the Seagull. The facility is now the largest NEV manufacturing base in Latin America, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles, set to expand to 300,000 units.
The plant will also produce other models, including the Song Pro and Destroyer 05, to serve the broader South American market. Additionally, BYD plans to establish a hybrid technology research and development center in Brazil.

Notably, just two days earlier on October 8, BYD officially entered the Argentine market, launching three new models—the Dolphin Mini, Yuan Up, and Song Pro DM-i—as part of its accelerated South American expansion strategy.
According to the latest figures, BYD sold 396,300 NEVs in September 2025. Exports reached 71,300 units, of which passenger cars and pickup trucks accounted for 70,900 units—a year-on-year increase of 107%.
