Elon Musk Likes He Xiaopeng’s Video “Self-Verifying” IRON’s Identity

The IRON robot centers on two key breakthroughs: extensive model training for mastering complex gaits, and an innovative bionic spine enabling highly coordinated torso movement.

On the evening of November 6th, at the X9 Super Range-Extending Technology launch event, XPeng Motors CEO He Xiaopeng directly cut open the leg covering of the IRON robot while it was powered on and operational, exposing internal precision components such as its biomimetic muscles, linear joints, and controllers. This served as yet another direct response to doubts claiming “a real person is hidden inside the robot.”

Following the launch event, the “self-verification” video of the IRON robot quickly circulated within tech circles. ChinaEVHome noticed that Tesla CEO Elon Musk also liked the related video on platform X.

According to an exposure in a social media post by the founder of international media Pandaily, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and XPeng Motors CEO He Xiaopeng engaged in an indirect exchange.

Musk stated, “Tesla and Chinese companies will dominate the market. I have great respect for Chinese competitors; there are many smart and hardworking people in China.”

Subsequently, He Xiaopeng responded, “Happy about Elon’s victory in this shareholder meeting, and I also believe Tesla’s robot and Robotaxi are both excellent. Looking forward to even greater success.”

Just this afternoon, He Xiaopeng further shared a video of the IRON robot’s bare machine training in the laboratory on the Weibo platform, and also released a clip of the robots dancing in sync.

He Xiaopeng shared that the progress of the IRON robot benefits from two major technical breakthroughs: firstly, the use of large model training, enabling the robot to quickly master complex gaits; secondly, the innovative biomimetic spine design, which allows the torso to achieve super-coordinated movement. The new IRON possesses 82 degrees of joint freedom, with highly flexible shoulders, waist, legs, and feet.
