NIO Group November Sales Analysis: All-New ES8 Leads, L90 Sees First Decline

Driven by its multi-brand strategy, the three brands—NIO, ONVO, and Firefly—have established differentiated growth patterns.

In November 2025, NIO Group delivered 36,275 new vehicles, marking a year-on-year increase of 76.3% and maintaining a monthly delivery level above 30,000 units for the fourth consecutive month.

As of December 1st, the cumulative deliveries of its three brands are approaching the 950,000-unit milestone.

Driven by its multi-brand strategy, the three brands—NIO, ONVO, and Firefly—have established differentiated growth patterns. Let’s delve into the specific performance of each brand’s models.

As the group’s premium brand, NIO delivered 18,393 units in November, achieving month-on-month growth for the fourth straight month.

The all-new ES8 performed exceptionally well, with monthly sales of 10,689 units, contributing 58% of the brand’s total sales. This represents a month-on-month increase of 59.5% compared to its October sales of 6,703 units. Notably, it took only 70 days from its launch to reach the 20,000-unit delivery milestone, setting a new record for delivery speed among pure electric models priced above 400,000 RMB.

The strong sales of the all-new ES8 are putting significant pressure on NIO’s production capacity.

NIO’s Vice President of Marketing, Kang Kai, revealed back in mid-November: the delivery target for the ES8 in November was hoped to reach 10,000 units, making it the fastest-ramping model in NIO’s history, with an expected production capacity of 20,000 units for December. Considering the “40,000-unit total production capacity target for the all-new ES8 in 2025” previously stated by William Li, December will be a crucial sprinting point for the all-new ES8.

The NIO App currently shows that placing an order for the all-new ES8 now comes with a delivery wait time of 20-21 weeks, meaning deliveries would occur around April of next year.

For comparison, two other NIO models also achieved monthly sales exceeding 1,000 units: the NIO ET5 Touring and the ES6, with sales of 3,205 and 2,268 units respectively, both showing a decline compared to October.

Impacted by internal competition from newer models and platform transition effects, the once best-selling NIO ET7 recorded only 57 units in monthly sales, sharing the bottom position with the NIO EC7 within the lineup.

It’s noteworthy that NIO’s executive flagship, the ET9, sold merely 118 units this month. Although it ranked third on the large sedan sales chart, there is a significant performance gap compared to the chart-topper, the Zunjie S800, which sold 2,205 units.

Sales by Model under NIO Brand in November

The ONVO brand delivered 11,794 units in November, representing a month-on-month decrease of 32.4% compared to its October sales of 17,342 units.

This change was primarily driven by the performance of the ONVO L90 model.

Specifically, the ONVO L60 sold 5,620 units in November, showing stabilized market performance. Meanwhile, sales of the ONVO L90 dropped sharply from 11,722 units in October to 5,970 units, a month-on-month decline of 49%.

This near-halving of sales stems from multiple overlapping factors. On one hand, a nationwide round of vehicle replacement subsidies expired at the end of October, with local government subsidies simultaneously tightening. This policy sunset front-loaded a significant amount of purchase demand before the subsidies were phased out, leading to a natural order decline in November during the policy gap period. On the other hand, there is a high overlap in the target audience between the all-new NIO ES8 and the ONVO L90, resulting in internal competition within the group diverting market share.

Data shows that cumulative deliveries for the ONVO L90 reached 39,319 units in the four months since its launch, elevating the brand’s average transaction price to 260,000 RMB.

The Firefly brand delivered 6,088 units in November, setting a new historical record for the fourth consecutive month.

Compared to popular models in the same segment, this sales volume has surpassed the combined sales of MINI and Smart in China during the same period, securing the top position in the premium small car market (priced above 100,000 RMB). As of December 1, 2025, cumulative deliveries for the Firefly brand reached 32,330 units.

To date, the Firefly brand has entered markets including the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Austria, and Portugal, with plans to gradually expand to 17 markets across Europe, America, and Southeast Asia.
