CATL and BYD firmly occupied the top two positions in installation volume with shares of 43.71% and 20.36% respectively, together holding nearly two-thirds of the market.
The China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance released the monthly power battery report for November 2025.
Regarding production, in November, the total output of power and other batteries in China reached 176.3 GWh, representing a month-on-month increase of 3.3% and a year-on-year surge of 49.2%. From January to November, the cumulative output of power and other batteries in China amounted to 1,468.8 GWh, reflecting a cumulative year-on-year growth of 51.1%.
In terms of sales, in November, the sales volume of power and other batteries in China was 179.4 GWh, up 8.1% month-on-month and 52.2% year-on-year. During the first eleven months, the cumulative sales volume reached 1,412.5 GWh, marking a cumulative year-on-year increase of 54.7%.

For exports, in November, China’s combined exports of power and other batteries totaled 32.2 GWh, rising 14.1% month-on-month and 46.5% year-on-year. From January to November, the cumulative exports amounted to 260.3 GWh, achieving a cumulative year-on-year growth of 44.2%. These cumulative exports accounted for 18.4% of the total cumulative sales volume during the first eleven months.

Looking at installation volumes, in November, the installed capacity of power batteries in the domestic market was 93.5 GWh, increasing by 11.2% month-on-month and 39.2% year-on-year. From January to November, the cumulative installed capacity reached 671.5 GWh, showing a cumulative year-on-year growth of 42.0%.
Analyzing installation volumes by power type, in November, battery electric vehicles accounted for 80.3% of the total, while plug-in hybrid electric vehicles made up 19.4%. From January to November, battery electric vehicles held a share of 81.3%, compared to 18.6% for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
From the perspective of technology routes, the dominant position of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries continued to solidify. Their installed capacity in November was 75.3 GWh, constituting 80.5% of the total and growing 40.7% year-on-year. In contrast, the installed capacity of ternary batteries was 18.2 GWh, accounting for 19.4%.

Regarding market concentration, in November, a total of 36 power battery enterprises provided installation support for the domestic new energy vehicle market, which is 2 fewer than the same period last year. From January to November, 51 power battery enterprises achieved installation support, equal to the number from the same period last year.
Furthermore, leading enterprises demonstrated significant advantages. CATL and BYD firmly occupied the top two positions in installation volume with shares of 43.71% and 20.36% respectively, together holding nearly two-thirds of the market.
Additionally, the sales growth rates of several leading companies, including CATL, BYD, and CALB, have all surpassed the industry’s average year-on-year level.
