SVOLT Posts First Quarterly Profit in Q4 2025, Sets 2026 Break-Even Goal

SVOLT expects battery shipments to reach 61 GWh in 2026, up 50% from 41 GWh in 2025.

On January 13, Yang Hongxin, chairman and CEO of China’s battery maker SVOLT, disclosed at the 6th SVOLT Battery Day that the company achieved its first-ever quarterly profit in Q4 2025.

In outlining its profitability roadmap, SVOLT provided clearer medium-term targets. The company expects battery shipments to reach 61 GWh in 2026, up 50% from 41 GWh in 2025, and is aiming to achieve full-year profitability in 2026.

According to the plan, SVOLT’s batteries will be installed in more than 30 new vehicle models in 2026.

The company is targeting overseas shipments to account for more than 31% of total volume, energy storage shipments to grow by over 200%, and plans to expand into more than 20 new projects.

At the battery day event, SVOLT unveiled six major battery technologies, spanning semi-solid-state batteries, short-blade cells, HEV applications and energy storage. Among them, the Stacking 4.0 technology was highlighted as a key upgrade on the manufacturing side.

Compared with version 3.0, Stacking 4.0 increases the “flying stack” process from eight layers to 16 layers, doubling efficiency.

Its single-machine capacity exceeds 1 GWh, cost per Wh is reduced by 34%, and mass production is scheduled to begin in Q2 2026.

In the semi-solid-state segment, SVOLT presented a clearer technology roadmap.

Its first-generation high-nickel semi-solid-state battery has entered small-batch production and has been deployed for the first time in a European passenger vehicle brand, achieving an energy density of 270 Wh/kg.

The second-generation high-nickel semi-solid-state battery is primarily designed for low-altitude aircraft applications. It has completed eVTOL flight tests, with energy density increased to 342 Wh/kg.

For the broader passenger vehicle market, a mid-nickel semi-solid-state battery is planned for mass production in October 2026, with an energy density of approximately 245 Wh/kg.

In addition, SVOLT released its Dragon Scale Armor 3.0 technology based on prismatic cells, enabling thermal-electric separation and compatibility with CTC and CTB designs. Mass production is targeted for Q1 2027.

From an industry perspective, SVOLT’s growth momentum is accelerating.

According to the latest data from South Korea–based SNE Research, global EV battery installations reached approximately 1,046 GWh in January–November 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 32.6%.

During the same period, SVOLT’s installed capacity reached 27.5 GWh, ranking ninth globally.

Its year-on-year growth surged 85.6%, the fastest among the top ten battery makers, with market share rising from 1.9% to 2.6%.
