Firefly RHD Model Begins First Deliveries in Singapore

Firefly has entered the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, and other countries, with plans to gradually expand into 17 markets across Europe, the Americas, and Southeast Asia.

On February 1st, Firefly commenced its first batch of customer deliveries for the right-hand drive (RHD) version in Singapore.

As NIO’s first right-hand drive model, this delivery marks a crucial step in Firefly’s global expansion strategy.

Notably, the delivery took place just over two months after the RHD version of Firefly rolled off the production line.

On November 18, 2025, the RHD version of Firefly officially entered mass production at the Hefei factory, with the first batch of vehicles immediately shipped to Singapore; on January 8, 2026, the vehicle made its debut at the Singapore Motor Show and opened for orders; by the end of January, Firefly’s first showroom in Singapore officially opened.

This pace continues Firefly’s accelerated momentum in its global market expansion.

Since its official launch on April 19, 2025, Firefly achieved its first European delivery in August, taking less than four months from its domestic launch—setting a new record for NIO’s fastest overseas market expansion.

Unlike the traditional direct sales model, Firefly adopted a national distributor model in Singapore, partnering with Wearnes Automotive Group, established in 1906.

NIO CEO William Li stated that this “asset-light” model allows the company to leverage the established distribution networks of local dealers for rapid market entry while alleviating the pressure of capital-intensive direct sales operations.

Additionally, Firefly has quickly gained recognition in overseas markets. In December 2025, Firefly won several international year-end awards—including “Europe and Latin America Most Anticipated New Car of 2026” from Newsweek and “2025 Car of the Year” from AutoRAI.

To date, Firefly has entered markets including the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Austria, and Portugal, with plans to successively expand to 17 markets across Europe, the Americas, and Southeast Asia.
