China’s auto news platform “LianChe” released the sales figures for various NIO models. In April, NIO ET9 deliveries reached 810 units, marking its first full month of deliveries since the model’s launch.

Despite the slowdown in the high – end new energy vehicle market, the ET9 has performed remarkably well. In contrast, BYD’s high – end model, the Yangwang U8, only sold 127 units last month, highlighting the ET9’s stronger market acceptance.
Launched on December 21, 2023, the ET9, priced from 788,000 yuan, is one of NIO’s most expensive models. It incorporates numerous self – developed technologies, showcasing NIO’s technical capabilities in areas like intelligent driving, chassis platform, and in – car interaction.
Interestingly, the ET9’s owner demographics are quite symbolic. Several well – known entrepreneurs have purchased the ET9, such as Paul, Chairman of Midea Group; Robin, Chairman of CATL; He Xiaopeng, Founder of XPeng Motors; and Richard Liu, Founder of JD.com. In a sense, the ET9 has become a symbol of identity for Chinese entrepreneurs.
William Li, Founder of NIO, has expressed his confidence in making the ET9 one of the top three models in the executive sedan market.
Recently, NIO reached a significant milestone of delivering its 700,000th vehicle. William Li stated, “700,000 NIO vehicles represent 700,000 acknowledgements, trusts, and expectations. It’s not an earth – shattering number, but it reflects the upward journey of Chinese automobile brands.”

Looking ahead, with the 2025 models of ES6, EC6, ET5, and ET5T opening for booking, NIO’s product lineup will be refreshed at a faster pace this year.
Currently, the ET9 serves as the pinnacle of NIO’s brand image, while the upcoming 5566 models will strengthen the foundation. If NIO succeeds in the high – end market and maintains sales for its mass – market models, it may deliver a more convincing performance this year.
