China’s Weekly NEV Sales Ranking Released: NIO Group at 4.7K, Tesla 15,500, Xiaomi 5,600

Today, 数说新能源 released the weekly sales ranking for new energy passenger vehicles in China for the previous week (June 9-June 15).

Compared to the previous week, five automakers surpassed the 10,000-unit sales mark this week. The two new entrants were Tesla (15,500 units) and AITO (nearly 10,000 units). Tesla saw a significant increase, with sales up 80.23% week-on-week.

This surge is likely linked to its recent promotional efforts, including the limited-time Full Self-Driving (FSD) transfer offer at the end of May, as well as the RMB 8,000 optional equipment subsidies and interest-free financing policies introduced in early June.

According to internal data shared by automotive blogger @万万_ECC, AITO’s specific sales figure was 9,950 units. Breaking it down by model, the AITO M8 contributed 5,122 units, accounting for nearly half of the total sales. It was followed by the M9 (2,980 units), M7 (1,007 units), and M5 (841 units).

However, the market performance of other brands under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) fell short of expectations, with none exceeding 1,000 units in weekly sales. LUXEED sold 771 units, while STELATO sold 879 units.

Another brand showing significant growth was BYD. Looking at the group as a whole, several of its brands demonstrated a broad-based recovery, achieving total sales of 77,000 units across all brands. Among these, the Dynasty and Ocean Networks contributed 70,000 units, while Formula Leopard sold 4,090 units and Denza sold 2,830 units.

Among emerging brands, Leapmotor and Zeekr maintained relatively stable orders, with sales flat compared to last week.

Other brands generally showed an upward trend, with one exception—Li Auto, which sold 7,900 units this week, down 4.8% week-on-week. Breaking down by model, the Li Mega recorded only 500 units in weekly sales.

Other notable brands included XPeng (6,400 units), Xiaomi (5,500 units), and NIO Group (4,700 units—comprising 3,064 NIO units, 1,234 Onvo units, and 437 Firefly units).

Compared to May, June’s market performance is expected to be softer. While some brands may see short-term highlights due to new model launches or strong stimulus policies, a clear month-on-month weakening trend is evident under overall stable market conditions.
