This afternoon, NIO officially announced plans to further expand its European market presence between 2025 and 2026.
Utilizing a national general distributor model, the company will introduce five models from two brands in Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Denmark. The lineup includes the NIO EL6 (ES6), EL8 (ES8), ET5, ET5 Touring (ET5T), and the firefly model.
In the Portuguese market, NIO will collaborate with JAP Group, a mobility service provider in Southwest Europe, which boasts over 120 years of industry experience.
Concurrently, NIO will partner with the international mobility service provider Motodynamics Group to enter the Greek market in 2025, followed by the Cypriot and Bulgarian markets in 2026. For the Danish market, NIO will cooperate with Nic. Christiansen Group, a Nordic mobility service enterprise.

On June 3rd, NIO announced its entry into seven additional European markets—namely Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, Poland, and Romania—also utilizing the national general distributor model.
Following this, NIO’s sub-brand firefly officially commenced long-distance testing across the European market. This test drive will traverse seven countries: Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, and Austria, spanning 15 days and covering over 5,500 kilometers.

Notably, yesterday, a netizen shared online that they spotted a right-hand-drive (RHD) version of the Firefly on a roadside in Melbourne. Could this indicate that firefly’s entry into the Australian market is imminent?
