Tesla’s first batch of V4 Superchargers officially went live in Shanghai, Gansu, Zhejiang, and Chongqing.
As of June 2025, Tesla has deployed over 2,100 Supercharging stations and 11,600 Superchargers nationwide.
On June 30, Tesla China officially announced the deployment of its first batch of V4 Superchargers in Shanghai, Gansu, Zhejiang, and Chongqing, with 7 stations (30 chargers) now operational. Additional V4 Superchargers will be progressively activated across China, expanding coverage to Beijing, Guangdong, Hunan, Hebei, Jiangsu, and Shaanxi.
As Tesla’s latest generation charging hardware, the V4 Supercharger features three key upgrades compared to the V3:
- Power Leap: Peak power increased from 250kW to 500kW, enabling a Model S Plaid to regain 400 km of range in just 10 minutes.
- Cable Optimization: Liquid-cooled cable diameter reduced by 35%, weight decreased by 35%, and length extended to 3 meters.
- Compatibility Expansion: Fully open to third-party EV models.
The deployment of V4 Superchargers continues Tesla’s localization strategy in China. Core components now achieve 90% domestic sourcing, manufactured at Tesla’s Shanghai integrated factory for solar-storage-charging products, which boasts an annual production capacity of over ten thousand V4 Superchargers. Furthermore, the supporting energy storage battery project at Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory is set to commence production within the year, providing green power support for the Supercharger network.

According to official Tesla data, as of June 2025, the global count of Tesla Superchargers has exceeded 70,000. Within China, Tesla has deployed over 2,100 Supercharging stations comprising more than 11,600 Superchargers across diverse locations in more than 350 cities nationwide, including business districts, commercial centers, and highway service areas. Real-time stall availability can be checked via the vehicle’s navigation system.
Tesla has currently established “15-minute Supercharging coverage” in 18 Chinese cities, with plans to expand this reach to over 50 cities by the end of 2025.
