As a “veteran” who has been engaged in the autonomous driving field for many years, Huang Xin has an impressive resume. Prior to this, he had worked at two major new energy vehicle manufacturers, XPeng and NIO, and personally led the implementation of a number of core intelligent driving functions, earning a good reputation in the industry.

Going back to 2022, Huang Xin officially joined NIO. At the beginning of his tenure, he held the position of Senior Director and reported directly to Li Bin, Founder, Chairman and CEO of NIO, which shows the company’s high attention to him. Most notably, Huang Xin’s core work achievements during his time at NIO were mostly focused on the field of intelligent safety technology, and more importantly, these achievements have all been practically put into mass production. For example:

  • He led the development of the “GOA” emergency braking system based on “occupancy grid”, which was put into mass production in January 2024 and avoids 3,000 to 4,000 forward collisions on average per month.
  • He promoted the world’s first end-to-end large-model enhanced AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking), which was mass-produced in July 2024. This system increased scenario coverage by 63% and reduced serious accidents involving pedestrians by 70%.
  • He also proposed the three-stage theory of automobile safety: “passive – active – intelligent”, emphasizing the balance between technology and users’ sense of security. This theory has also been recognized by many people in the industry.

Before joining NIO, Huang Xin had an equally brilliant career. He once served as XPeng’s Autonomous Driving Product Director for a long time.

During his tenure at XPeng, he led the implementation of core functions such as NGP (Navigation Guided Pilot, which enables full-process assisted driving) and Memory Parking (specifically designed to solve parking pain points in familiar scenarios). These efforts laid a solid foundation for XPeng to establish its competitiveness in the intelligent driving field in the early stage. However, in July 2021, Huang Xin chose to resign from XPeng, and half a year later, he officially joined NIO, starting a new career journey.early competitiveness in intelligent driving. It is worth noting that Momenta has always been at the forefront of the industry in the field of intelligent driving technology research and development, with advanced technologies and innovative concepts.
