Xiaomi Auto’s Kunlun platform will offer multiple SUV variants, while Mandao may deliver innovative RV features.
Recent online discussions surrounding Xiaomi Auto’s third model, the YU9 (internal codename “Kunlun”), have intensified, shedding light on platform-based product planning and an expanding model pipeline.
According to auto blogger @小吕斯基, Kunlun will not be a single model but a platform spawning three sub-variants — Kunlun 10, Kunlun 20 and Kunlun 30 — positioned against Li Auto’s L6, L8 and L9 respectively.

The series will offer 70 kWh and 90 kWh battery packs to establish a complete presence in the mid-to-large family SUV segment.
Alongside Kunlun, a new vehicle codenamed “Mandao” also surfaced. The model is reportedly equipped with a 95 kWh battery, delivering up to 600 km CLTC pure-electric range, and features quad motors and active suspension.
Additional features sound unconventional, including a 30-inch TV display, lift-up roof, loft-style interior, standing room, and a roof suitable for sleeping.

These suggest that Mandao may be positioned more as an outdoor-focused RV rather than a traditional flagship passenger vehicle.
Initial credibility of the leak was questioned, but a media outlet certified as @上海汽车报 reposted the information, noting that similar details had been heard from top-tier suppliers two weeks earlier, adding weight to the rumor’s reliability.

It is important to note that none of the Mandao details are officially confirmed, and the project is likely still in early research stages. Product configuration, performance specifications and launch timelines remain uncertain.
By comparison, Kunlun shows clearer progress. In October, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun and senior automotive executives traveled to Xinjiang for high-altitude testing, indicating the vehicle has entered engineering prototype or pre-production phases.

Current engineering work focuses on reliability validation, power and cooling system calibration, and overall vehicle tuning.
A Deutsche Bank research note previously indicated Xiaomi plans to launch a large D-segment hybrid SUV in 2026. Based on dimensions, Kunlun may match that description, suggesting a 2026 release window.
Xiaomi Auto’s faster product cadence reflects stabilization in business fundamentals. According to Xiaomi Group’s Q3 2025 earnings, the smart EV and AI innovation segment achieved its first quarterly operating profit of RMB 700 million ($98 million).
Auto revenue reached RMB 28.3 billion ($3.96 billion), up 197.9% year-on-year, while quarterly deliveries hit 108,800 units, rising 33.8% quarter-on-quarter.
