This evaluation is based on typical consumer usage scenarios and verifies the vehicles’ all-around electrical safety technology against more comprehensive criteria.
Recently, both the BYD Han L and the XPENG G7 models demonstrated outstanding performance in the 2025 New Energy Vehicle Electrical Safety Evaluation conducted by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC), each earning a five-star rating.
It is worth noting that this test evaluation covers six assessment categories: charging safety, electromagnetic safety, functional safety, battery safety, high-voltage safety, and fire safety. A scoring rate of ≥90% is required to achieve a five-star rating.

Within this evaluation system, the BYD Han L EV 701km LiDAR Premium version achieved a five-star rating in the “Sedan” category, with a final score of 97.5%.
The model received a perfect score of 100 in both charging safety and electromagnetic safety. Notably, in battery safety, it scored only 90 points, which is below the average score of 98 points among the evaluated models.

Another model that received a five-star rating is the XPENG G7 702 Ultra Long Range MAX version, with an overall comprehensive score of 90.8%.
The report indicates that this model achieved a perfect score of 100 in both electromagnetic safety and battery safety, while scoring above 90 in functional safety and fire safety.
It is noteworthy that in the high-voltage safety assessment, the XPENG G7 scored only 25 points, significantly lower than the average score of 63 points.
