In November, the overall frequency of industry OTA updates moderated, with upgrades focused on the cabin domain experience.
The China Passenger Car Association released the November OTA monitoring monthly report today.
The data shows that in November 2025, the industry collectively updated 936 functions, a significant decrease compared to the previous month. Among these, new functions accounted for 49%, while optimized functions accounted for 50%.
Following the BYD family’s “mid-year major OTA,” new forces brands collectively pushing major advanced driving assistance system versions, and Leap Motor’s major version upgrades for multiple models, the overall frequency of industry-wide OTA updates has moderated. Upgrades have focused on the cabin domain, concentrating on optimizing modules such as voice functions, infotainment ecosystem, map ecosystem, and function settings.
First, looking at the new forces automakers.
In November, new forces brands collectively updated 177 functions, showing a noticeable decline from the previous month. Among them, Leap Motor and Tesla focused on refining the experience of conventional “vehicle settings and controls.”
Nio and Xiaomi were the main contributors to new forces upgrades this month. Nio’s upgrades emphasized AI-empowered NOMI and cabin experience; Xiaomi implemented significant upgrades in both advanced driving assistance systems and the intelligent cabin.

On the side of domestic brands, a total of 710 functions were updated in November.
The map ecosystem module was the focus of this month’s upgrades. Brands such as BYD, Haval, Geely Galaxy, and ORA all pushed related content, accelerating the普及 of highlighted features like traffic light countdowns, green wave speed suggestions, and proactive recommendations for destination/parking information.
Furthermore, BYD optimized automatic parking, while Geely Galaxy and Exeed pushed the highly user-anticipated fingertip parking function, continuously enhancing the parking experience for domestic new energy brand models.

Additionally, in November, joint venture and luxury brands collectively updated 49 functions, with upgrade content primarily focused on experience optimization.
Among them, Cadillac, Buick, and smart, among others, emphasized optimizations in the vehicle settings/controls and system settings modules to improve the overall vehicle experience.
Toyota pushed a new round of large-scale OTA for the bZ3X, involving upgrades to 2 major functions and the addition/optimization of 26 functions. The integration of an AI large model and upgrades to intelligent parking assist functions significantly enhanced the cabin’s intelligent level and parking experience.
