BYD said it currently has no related plans or arrangements to launch a flying car, urging restraint amid traffic-driven speculation.
On December 29, Li Yunfei, General Manager of Brand and Public Relations at BYD Group, responded on social media to market rumors claiming that BYD would launch a flying car, stating clearly that the information was not true.

Li said BYD currently has “no such plans or arrangements,” and cautioned that in a traffic-driven information environment, basic restraint and rational judgment should be maintained.
Previously, some self-media accounts released videos claiming that a “BYD flying car is coming soon,” linking concepts such as megawatt-level fast charging and the Xuanniao architecture to a so-called “Yangwang Ufly” project, which drew widespread attention.
At present, the low-altitude economy has become a new frontier for cross-industry expansion by automakers.
Companies including XPeng, GAC, and Changan have publicly announced their entry into the sector, accelerating research, development, and commercialization of flying cars.
Among them, XPeng Aridge, the flying car subsidiary of XPeng, disclosed its latest progress at 2025 AI Day, stating that its eVOLT, dubbed the “Land Aircraft Carrier,” is expected to enter scaled mass production and delivery in 2026.

In early November this year, the first “Land Aircraft Carrier” aircraft rolled off the production line at XPeng’s manufacturing base.
Once operating at full capacity, the facility is expected to produce up to 10,000 units annually. Global cumulative orders for the model have already exceeded 7,000 units.
GAC Group is also accelerating its efforts. In December, GAC revealed on an investor interaction platform that the first mass-production-grade flying car under its low-altitude mobility brand GOVY, the GOVY AirCab, has entered the airworthiness certification phase and is expected to achieve mass production and delivery in 2026.

In addition, Changan Automobile Chairman Zhu Huarong said at the World New Energy Vehicle Congress that Changan is speeding up its layout in emerging fields such as flying cars and plans to launch route-based flying vehicles by 2030.
