The local content rate for Geely EX2’s components has reached 46.5%, with battery cells locally produced by PT Gotion Indonesia.
Geely has officially launched its battery-electric model EX2 in Indonesia, marking the third Southeast Asian market for the vehicle after Malaysia and Thailand.

Unlike previous market entries via imports, the EX2 will be produced locally in Indonesia, representing a key step in Geely’s efforts to advance electrification and manufacturing localisation in the country.
At a launch event yesterday, Geely announced official pricing for the EX2, which will be offered in Pro and Max variants with list prices of Rp 255 million ($15,000) and Rp 285 million ($16,800) respectively.
Geely is also offering an “early bird price” for the first 2,000 customers who complete pre-orders by February 15.
Under this scheme, the Pro version starts at IDR 229.9 million ($13,600) and the Max version at IDR 259.9 million ($15,350).

The EX2 will be built by contract manufacturer PT Handal Indonesia Motor at its Purwakarta factory, which has a daily production capacity of about 60 units.
This is the third Geely model to enter mass production at the facility, following the EX5 and the Starray EM-i.
According to officials, the local content rate for the vehicle’s components has reached 46.5%. The battery cells are locally produced by PT Gotion Indonesia.

The development of a local supply chain is expected to help reduce costs and align with the Indonesian government’s recent localisation requirements for new energy projects.
In terms of specifications, the EX2 is built on Geely’s GEA (Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture) platform, sharing its architecture with Geely’s latest electric models. Both variants feature a rear-mounted motor with rear-wheel drive.
Both versions use the same single motor on the rear axle, delivering 116 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque, matched with a 40.8 kWh battery pack and offering an NEDC range of 395 km.
At the launch, Constantinus Herlijoso, Geely Indonesia’s sales and channel development director, said the EX2 had already secured 1,500 confirmed orders (SPKs) before its market debut.
In China, the EX2 is sold as Geely Xingyuan, where it recorded full-year sales of 465,775 units in 2025, making it the best-selling model across all vehicle segments in the Chinese market last year.
