According to the plan, in addition to the Wey V9X, multiple models codenamed DE8, DE7, and DE6 are expected to launch sequentially in Q2, Q3, and Q4 this year.
GWM Chairman Jack Wey posted a video teaser on Weibo to warm up for the company’s new flagship SUV.
In the video, Jack Wey revealed: “In traditional Chinese culture, the Qilin, as an auspicious beast, carries natural majesty and guards all directions. We have integrated this Eastern heritage into our new luxury flagship.”
This statement officially confirms that GWM’s upcoming flagship model will take the “Qilin” as its core design inspiration.

Notably, this is not the first time GWM has drawn technical inspiration from traditional Chinese culture.
Jack Wey stated that the 40-60 water diversion principle of Dujiangyan inspired GWM’s Hi4-Z power split technology, while movable type printing guided the development of the “Guiyuan” technical platform.

Notably, the first model on the Guiyuan platform—the Wey V9X—is about to hit the market, bearing the heavy responsibility of breaking through into the premium segment for GWM.
According to information from the MIIT, the Wey V9X measures 5299mm/2025mm/1825mm in length/width/height, with a wheelbase of 3150mm. These dimensions are slightly larger than competitors such as the Li Auto L9 and AITO M9, making this model the largest SUV in GWM’s history.

In terms of exterior design, the Wey V9X features an overall square and robust shape. The front face is equipped with a full-width circular light strip supporting flowing welcome lighting effects, with an active grille below.
A LiDAR module is mounted on the roof, providing hardware foundation for advanced intelligent driving. The official statement particularly emphasizes that the new car offers optional V9X or “Yuanshan” badging, and features a purple-gold two-tone interior emphasizing texture.

For powertrain, the V9X is equipped with a Super Hi4 plug-in hybrid system based on an 800V mixed architecture, featuring GWM’s self-developed 2.0T high-efficiency hybrid-dedicated engine (model E15NBE) with a maximum power of 175 kW.
Additionally, it uses nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary lithium batteries provided by Svolt Energy, offering two capacity options of 53.6 kWh and 77.7 kWh, corresponding to CLTC pure electric ranges of 240 km and 363 km respectively.

According to planning, the Wey V9X is expected to officially launch in the second quarter of 2026.
Furthermore, GWM’s 2026 new vehicle planning shows that in addition to the V9X, the Guiyuan platform will also launch multiple models codenamed DE8, DE7, and DE6, expected to be released sequentially in the second, third, and fourth quarters of this year.
