GWM H10 Logs 31.8K Firm Orders in 24 Hours, Starting at $31.1K

Great Wall Motor said its H10 SUV secured 31,826 firm orders within 24 hours after opening order books.

Launched on Aug. 5, the H10 is positioned as a midsize-to-large SUV targeting family users as well as light off-road scenarios. The model offers five-seat and six-seat layouts, with prices ranging from RMB 209.8K ($31.1K) to RMB 231.8K ($34.4K).

The H10 is not positioned as a traditional urban SUV. Instead, it targets China’s fast-growing “boxy SUV” segment. The segment combines rugged SUV styling, urban driving comfort, and broader outdoor use cases. It has emerged as a new growth area in China’s SUV market.

The biggest highlight of the Great Wall H10 is its dual cabin strategy, offering both a five-seat layout and a six-seat layout.

The five-seat version measures 5,138 mm in length, 2,050 mm in width, and 1,970 mm in height, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. It adopts a two-row 2+3 seating configuration.

The six-seat version stretches to 5,299 mm in length while maintaining the same width, height, and wheelbase. It features a three-row 2+2+2 seating layout.

Smart driving is another key selling point of the H10. The SUV comes standard with LiDAR across the lineup and runs on the Coffee Pilot 3 intelligent driving system. Combined with 27 sensing units, the system supports assisted driving functions across highways, urban roads, and parking scenarios.

Powering the H10 is Great Wall’s second-generation Hi4 performance hybrid four-wheel-drive system. The system delivers a combined output of 440 kW, with maximum wheel-end torque reaching 7,700 N·m. The SUV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

The vehicle also packs a 42.8 kWh battery. It offers a CLTC pure-electric range of 232 km, with a maximum combined range of 1,404 km. Great Wall said the model can gain 126 km of range after a 15-minute fast charge.

Despite its rugged appearance, the H10 uses a monocoque body structure with an embedded beam design. The model is positioned for light off-road use rather than hardcore terrain, focusing on family mobility scenarios in urban environments.

In terms of competition, BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao Tai 7 has become a key rival in the family-oriented boxy SUV segment. As a new model under BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao brand, Tai 7 has gained strong market attention with its boxy design, advanced smart features, and new energy positioning. The model has surpassed 200K deliveries within less than one year after launch.

More automakers are entering the same market. Models including Geely’s upcoming Galaxy Cruiser 700, Skynomad N70, and Skynomad N90 are also targeting the emerging family SUV segment, seeking new growth opportunities.

Great Wall Motor reported global sales of 108,067 vehicles in July 2026, up 5.34% year over year. The Haval brand remained the company’s main sales driver, delivering 56,272 vehicles in July. Tank sold 17,228 units, Great Wall pickups reached 16,006 units, Ora delivered 10,820 units, while Wey sold 7,725 units.
