I. Golden Range Extender

The system is derived from the EA211 1.5T range extender, incorporating APS atmospheric plasma spraying technology that reduces cylinder wall thickness from 2.3mm to 0.13mm. Combined with a 350bar high-pressure fuel injection system and VTG variable geometry turbocharging, it delivers more stable and efficient power output.

Paired with a 65.2kWh CATL Qiyao MAX battery pack, the system maintains a discharge power of 310kW even at 18% low state of charge.

According to official figures, the ID.ERA 9X achieves over 400km CLTC pure electric range and over 1,600km combined range with this system. The all-wheel-drive version consumes only 6.27L per 100km in charge-depletion mode. In testing at Lhasa, 3,650 meters above sea level, acceleration differed by just 0.18 seconds between high and low battery states.

II. Xingyun Intelligent Chassis

As a large six-seat SUV measuring 5.2 meters in length and over 3 tons fully loaded, the ID.ERA 9X addresses the “big car, hard to drive” challenge through hardware solutions.

The Xingyun Intelligent Chassis features a front double wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension structure, equipped with 150mm ultra-long travel dual-chamber air suspension supporting 7-level height adjustment. Its one-click leveling function can automatically correct up to 4° of tilt when parked on slopes.

The DCC electronically controlled damping system with 900% adjustment range adapts to various road conditions, while the VMC intelligent motion control system enables rapid coordinated response of chassis components. With rear-wheel steering, the ID.ERA 9X achieves a minimum turning radius of just 4.85 meters.

III. Yunqi Smart Cockpit

For the cabin, the ID.ERA 9X debuts the Smart Surface Magic Screen, embedded beneath wood grain trim using micron-level laser processing technology, illuminating when in use.

The front instrument panel displays real-time vehicle information, while second-row door panels support climate control, seat adjustment, and refrigerator operation. The vehicle also features three zero-gravity seats with multiple safety protections including 12L large-capacity submersion-deployed airbags and integrated seatbelt systems.

IV. World’s First Momenta R7

For assisted driving, the ID.ERA 9X will globally debut the Momenta R7 reinforcement learning world model.

The new Momenta R7 introduces a world model based on reinforcement learning, enabling AI to move beyond simply “seeing” the environment to “understanding” dynamic world changes, improving decision-making and interaction precision.

V. Safety

On safety, the ID. ERA 9X features “Hexagonal Battery Safety” protection.

Official data shows the ID. ERA 9X’s underbody protection can withstand 2,000J of impact—13 times the national standard requirement of 150J.

As the first vehicle implementing SAIC Volkswagen’s “Crash Safety 4.0” standard, the ID. ERA 9X meets multiple safety evaluation requirements including national standards, C-NCAP, and C-IASI.

To ensure overall vehicle safety, the ID. ERA 9X has passed extensive extreme scenario testing. Official data indicates over 32,000 hours of range extender bench durability, over 2,600 fast-charging cycles, over 20,000 hours of electric drive durability, and over 1 million kilometers of single-module bench durability testing.
