Xiaomi Auto’s new sub-brand SkyNomad today officially announced the name of its first SUV model — the SkyNomad N90 — alongside the release of official exterior design images.
The promotional cadence has been extremely tight, with a massive flow of information, from the debut of the new SkyNomad brand to the exterior reveal of the new vehicle.

On July 9, Xiaomi Auto officially announced its second product line: SkyNomad. Literally translated as “Sky Nomad,” the name positions the brand toward family long-distance road trips and outdoor camping scenarios.
It is learned that SkyNomad was planned and initiated in early 2023, with a brand-new platform architecture — codenamed Kunlun — developed from the ground up, enabling better spatial versatility for the new model.

Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi Auto, stated that the SU7/YU7 series are “driver’s cars,” while the SkyNomad series is positioned as “intelligent, transformable large-space SUVs,” creating a differentiated strategy from the former.
Below, let’s take a look at the highlights of the SkyNomad N90, based on the official images and available leaks.
In terms of exterior design, the SkyNomad N90 adopts a rugged, substantial stance. The front fascia retains the highly recognizable cross-shaped design, while the rear features a ring-shaped taillight, continuing the family design language.
Additionally, the Xiaomi Auto logo remains on the front hood, with a large chrome grille below and a SkyNomad badge above to emphasize identity, alongside triangular air intakes on the sides. On closer inspection, the N90 is equipped with a lidar unit on the roof and cameras below both A-pillars, suggesting strong autonomous driving capabilities.
Other details include hidden door handles, new wheel designs, and chrome trim on the side windows.

The interior design is the centerpiece of the SkyNomad N90.
According to the official images, the SkyNomad N90 adopts a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout, with a two-tone interior color scheme.
Up front, the driver gets a minimalist two-spoke steering wheel, and the center console features a large touchscreen, with the lower control area separated from the center armrest box.
The front seats can rotate 180° backward to face the second row, creating a living-room mode, while the center armrest can slide along rails to the middle to become a dedicated island. The company notes that this mode is only available when the vehicle is in Park (P) gear.
In addition, the second row can be equipped with detachable small tables to expand usage scenarios. The second-row seats are zero-gravity units with extended leg rests for enhanced comfort.
From the third row, the N90 features a wrap-around design with armrests and cup holders, and the trunk is expected to offer ample cargo space. Other comfort features include a refrigerator under the armrest, overhead speakers, front and rear split panoramic sunroofs, and ventilated and heated second-row seats.

The company has not yet released powertrain details for the SkyNomad N90, but it is rumored to be equipped with a 1.5T range extender paired with a large battery exceeding 70 kWh, offering a pure-electric range of approximately 400–500 km, balancing daily commuting and long-distance travel.
From pure electric to range-extended technology, Xiaomi Auto is pursuing a dual-track product strategy to target the larger family-user market. How the new model performs in the market will ultimately depend on whether its final pricing proves truly competitive.
