- WeRide-Bosch L2++ ADAS begins road testing in Germany, France and Japan for global validation.

On July 13, WeRide disclosed for the first time the overseas progress of its L2++ advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) business.
The intelligent driving solution, jointly developed by WeRide and Bosch, has entered road testing and adaptation validation in multiple countries, including Germany, France and Japan.

The system combines WeRide’s proprietary one-stage end-to-end ADAS algorithm with Bosch’s automotive-grade domain controller platform and global testing infrastructure.
Unlike traditional driver assistance systems that rely on multiple modules working together, WeRide’s one-stage end-to-end approach uses a single AI model to integrate perception, prediction, decision-making and control processes, while bringing driving and parking scenarios under a unified architecture.
However, deploying intelligent driving systems overseas involves more than simply transferring existing technology.
Differences in road structures, traffic regulations, driving behaviors and compliance requirements across markets create additional engineering challenges.

WeRide said the solution is currently undergoing regional adaptation testing, covering German highway environments, complex roundabout scenarios in France, right-hand-drive conditions in Japan and Southeast Asia, as well as high-temperature climate conditions in the Middle East.
Through cross-region testing, the company aims to collect engineering data from different markets to support future mass production and commercial deployment.
In China, WeRide’s one-stage end-to-end intelligent driving solution is also moving toward production applications.
Since the beginning of this year, models equipped with the technology, including Chery’s Exeed ES and ET series vehicles, have achieved top rankings in six rounds of China’s intelligent driving competitions.

The solution has also secured designated projects covering more than 30 vehicle models from automakers including Chery and GAC Group, accelerating the transition from technology development to mass production.
Intelligent driving has increasingly become a new area of competition for Chinese automakers expanding overseas.
As new energy vehicle exports continue to grow, demand for advanced driver assistance functions in international markets is also increasing.
To date, WeRide has obtained autonomous driving-related permits in eight countries, including China, the UAE, Singapore, France, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Belgium and Switzerland, while deploying operations across more than 40 cities in over 12 countries worldwide.
In addition to Bosch, WeRide has established partnerships with automakers and industry suppliers including the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, Yutong Group and GAC Group.
