- NIO’s ES9 hit 20,000 deliveries in 73 days, doubling its first 10,000 in record time.
- NIO’s rising ES9 sales lifted brand ASP to RMB 434,600, outpacing Mercedes, BMW and Audi.
- NIO scaled infrastructure fast, reaching 4,008 battery swap stations and 120 million swaps.
On Aug. 8, NIO delivered the 20,000th ES9 in Fujian, reaching the milestone in 73 days.
The latest delivery milestone follows the model’s first 10,000 deliveries, completed on June 26 this year, extending the strong momentum it has maintained since launch.
The ES9 officially went on sale on May 27, with the first customer deliveries beginning nationwide the following day.

The model starts at RMB 498,000 ($73,740), or RMB 390,000 ($57,750) under NIO’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program.
Just 30 days after launch, the ES9 surpassed 10,000 deliveries, setting a record as the fastest premium BEV priced above RMB 500,000 ($74,000) in China to reach that milestone.
Reaching the second 10,000-delivery milestone indicates that the model has entered a phase of stable volume growth.
The ES9’s continued sales momentum has also contributed to gains in both NIO brand deliveries and average transaction prices.
NIO Vice President Ma Lin disclosed on Monday that the NIO brand’s ASP reached RMB 434,600 ($64,350) in July, exceeding those of traditional premium brands including Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi.
That performance stands in contrast with broader industry trends. According to data from CPCA, the Chinese automotive industry’s profit margin fell to just 3.8% in the first half of 2026.

While much of the industry has relied on aggressive price cuts to boost sales, the NIO brand has recently posted simultaneous growth in both deliveries and average selling prices.
Official figures show NIO Inc. delivered 35,934 vehicles in July 2026, up 71% year-on-year.
Of that total, the NIO brand accounted for 20,008 deliveries, an increase of 57.9% year-on-year, representing 55.6% of the group’s overall deliveries.
During the first seven months of 2026, NIO Inc. delivered 227,057 vehicles, up 68.0% from a year earlier, surpassing its total deliveries for all of 2024.
Over the same period, the NIO brand delivered 139,496 vehicles, up 60.1% year-on-year, also setting a record for the period.
Beyond the vehicle itself, NIO continues to view its charging and battery swapping infrastructure as one of the ES9’s key competitive advantages and is continuing to expand its battery swap network.

On Friday, NIO announced its cumulative battery swap services across its network had surpassed 120 million.
The brand’s first fifth-generation battery swap station went live in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, marking the 4,000th swap station across China’s network.
The fifth-gen station marks a milestone by supporting three marques under one system—NIO, ONVO and firefly—with firefly users gaining access to the battery swapping network for the first time.
Previously, NIO founder, chairman and CEO William Li said the company plans to add 1,000 battery swap stations in 2026, with fifth-generation stations serving as the primary rollout.
As of now, NIO has built 9,177 charging and battery swap facilities across China, including 4,008 battery swap stations, 5,169 charging stations and 29,841 charging piles.
