On Aug. 10, NING Service, CATL’s new energy aftermarket service brand, held its annual brand event in Haikou and announced further expansion of its global service network.
On the same day, 10 directly operated experience centers were officially opened in Haikou, Hangzhou, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Ningbo, Hong Kong, as well as overseas markets including Norway and Turkey.
At the event, NING Service also launched its 100-city partnership program, under which directly operated experience centers will be gradually established in 100 cities worldwide during the second half of 2026.

The expansion represents CATL’s broader shift from a power battery manufacturer toward a provider of full lifecycle battery services, a direction that has become an important part of its business strategy in recent years.
Founded in 2024, NING Service focuses on the new energy vehicle aftermarket sector, covering battery diagnostics, repair, maintenance, spare parts supply, extended warranties and recycling services.
As the global NEV fleet continues to expand, issues including battery degradation, repair costs and the development of after-sales service systems have become key challenges for the industry.
Currently, NING Service’s basic service network covers 84 countries worldwide, with 1,376 professional service stations and operational support provided for 1,505 battery swap stations.
In repair services, NING Service introduced its first electric commercial and passenger vehicle integrated diagnostic and maintenance vehicle.
The mobile service vehicle offers a comprehensive driving range of 800 km and can cover around 90% of repair scenarios while significantly reducing service turnaround times.
Addressing the industry’s previous reliance on full battery pack replacement, NING Service said it has developed the Eagle Eye system to track repair procedures.
Combined with CTP battery deep repair technology, this system enables module-level repairs for faulty batteries.
The technology is currently compatible with 76.8% of mainstream new energy vehicle models.

Beyond passenger vehicles, NING Service also announced plans to expand into additional sectors, including ships, low-altitude aircraft, intelligent robots and energy storage.
This covers applications across land transportation, marine mobility, aviation, smart equipment and energy storage.
The move aligns with CATL’s broader transformation toward becoming an integrated energy technology company.
The battery giant has already expanded into areas including energy storage, electric vessels and aviation power batteries.
On Aug. 9, CATL announced that its aviation battery system developed for passenger eVTOL applications had passed a thermal runaway propagation prevention test involving two adjacent cells.

The system became the world’s first aviation battery system using prismatic cells with an energy density of up to 350 Wh/kg to pass the validation.
On the consumer side, NING Service also launched a RMB 1 billion ($147.8 million) subsidy program on the same day.
This subsidy offers benefits covering battery inspections, maintenance services, official repairs, extended warranties and original factory warranty support.
