Gotion Launches Mobile Charging, Battery-Swap Solution for Electric Trucks in Europe

Takeaways
  • Gotion and C&C Trucks unveiled a mobile battery-swapping and energy-storage system for heavy trucks, shifting replenishment from fixed stations to mobile units to ease infrastructure constraints and speed deployment.
  • Dual-pack side-mounted system supports two 430kWh modules for 860kWh total and enables battery replacement within five minutes; Gotion plans 1,000 stations by 2026 and 8,000 by 2030 to support long freight corridors.
  • Targets long-haul Europe-Africa heavy-duty segment and C&C’s Phoenix BEV/REEV models, but execution risks include cross-border deployment, regulatory alignment, capital intensity, and scaling mobile logistics operations.

Gotion High-Tech and C&C Trucks, a subsidiary of Chery Commercial Vehicle, have jointly unveiled the DIANLL mobile charging, swapping and energy storage solution for the first time at the 2026 IAA Transportation show in Hanover, Germany. The integrated system covers electric trucks, solar power, energy storage, charging and battery swapping.

DIANLL is a heavy-duty truck energy replenishment solution launched by Gotion High-Tech in May. Unlike traditional fixed battery swapping stations, the system shifts swapping capabilities from permanent facilities to mobile equipment.

The solution supports a dual-pack, side-mounted battery swapping system integrated with both the tractor and trailer. It can combine two 430kWh battery modules for a total capacity of 860kWh, while enabling battery replacement within five minutes. Without the need for fixed swapping stations, DIANLL can reduce investments in land acquisition, grid upgrades and other infrastructure.

The system also connects with Gotion High-Tech’s GotionGuard-ZERO digital energy cloud platform, enabling intelligent energy scheduling. By integrating solar, wind power and energy storage systems, it can improve the utilization of renewable energy.

Gotion High-Tech’s push into Europe’s electric heavy-duty truck market targets one of the biggest challenges facing the sector: charging and energy replenishment infrastructure.

As Europe continues tightening carbon-reduction regulations for commercial vehicles, electric trucks are becoming a key pathway for decarbonizing logistics. However, compared with passenger EVs, heavy-duty trucks require higher standards for range, charging efficiency and operational uptime.

Many cross-border routes and remote logistics hubs in Europe still lack sufficient charging and swapping infrastructure. Meanwhile, traditional fixed stations require long construction cycles and significant capital investment, limiting the wider adoption of electric trucks.

As a result, competition in the sector is shifting from vehicle performance alone toward integrated solutions combining trucks, batteries and energy infrastructure.

DIANLL has already started deployment in China. Under Gotion High-Tech’s plan, the company will establish 1,000 stations by 2026 to serve 100 freight corridors longer than 500 kilometers. By 2030, the network is expected to expand to 8,000 stations covering more than 200,000 kilometers of major transport routes.

At IAA Transportation, C&C Trucks also introduced two international heavy-duty truck models — the Phoenix BEV electric truck and the Phoenix REEV extended-range electric truck.

The Phoenix BEV supports both charging and battery swapping, while the Phoenix REEV offers three energy supply options: charging, swapping and fuel refueling. Gotion High-Tech’s DIANLL mobile energy ecosystem will provide supporting infrastructure for both models.

Meanwhile, Gotion High-Tech and C&C Trucks delivered the first battery-swapping heavy-duty truck for the Europe-Africa transport corridor with strategic partner GPM and signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
