The smart cockpit interface shown in XPeng’s official announcement features a broad selection of popular international applications following the native integration of Google Play.

These include Spotify, Waze, Google Chrome, SoundCloud, Prime Video, YouTube, HBO Max and TIDAL.

It covers common in-car use cases such as music streaming, video entertainment, web browsing and navigation.

Notably, Geely Holding has unveiled a global strategic partnership with Google.

The pair will co-develop digital cockpit ecosystems for eligible models of Geely brands in Google-served overseas markets. The first vehicle with these services is due in H2 2027.

Set to launch in 2027, both partnerships highlight overseas software ecosystems as a key component of Chinese automakers’ global push.

In July, XPeng announced at the launch of the MONA L03 in Munich that its overseas models had officially adopted Google Maps navigation services.

XPeng also became the first automaker in the Asia-Pacific region to adopt the Google Maps Automotive SDK, with the feature making its debut on the MONA L03.

XPeng uses Google Maps data services to support its Navigation Guided Pilot (NGP) intelligent driver-assistance system and XPILOT ASSIST, enabling their deployment in overseas markets, including Europe.

Commenting on XPeng’s efforts to expand its overseas in-car ecosystem, Thomas, XPeng VP, also emphasized the importance of Google Maps in international markets, saying, “Google Maps is very, very important overseas.”

During this year’s Paris Motor Show, XPeng launched the G9L globally and opened orders in several European countries, with prices in France starting at €74,990 ($86,240).

The model integrates localized services including Google Maps and Google Play, becoming the second XPeng vehicle after the MONA L03 to adopt the Google Maps Automotive SDK.

XPeng’s growing overseas business provides a commercial rationale for these localization efforts.
