Xiaomi has invested RMB 5.79 billion ($810 million) in assisted driving, with a dedicated team of over 1,800 people and more than 400 test vehicles.
On July 29, Xiaomi officially announced the full rollout of its end-to-end assisted driving system based on 10 million Clips, available for Xiaomi SU7 Pro, Max, and Ultra models.
In addition to these models, the Xiaomi YU7 is equipped with the 10-million-clip system straight from the factory.

“Clips” refer to video segments recording real driving behavior, typically 30 seconds to 1 minute in length, incorporating multimodal data from lidar, cameras, and millimeter-wave radar. When the number of clips reaches 10 million, the control performance of the end-to-end large model becomes significantly more natural and fluent—akin to being driven by an experienced human driver.
Compared with the previous 3-million-clip version, the new 10-million-clip Xiaomi system delivers comprehensive experience upgrades:
- Longitudinal comfort improved by 57%, with smoother and more linear acceleration and deceleration control, reducing motion sickness during frequent stop-and-go in congested traffic;
- Bypass success rate increased by 67%, with more decisive maneuvering and accurate route planning, handling narrow road scenarios like parked obstacles or oncoming traffic with ease;
- Intersection pass rate increased by 23%, with better understanding of the “rules” at Chinese intersections, enabling smooth navigation through mixed-traffic urban villages and old neighborhoods.
Xiaomi reiterated its long-term commitment to the assisted driving field, with an initial investment of RMB 5.79 billion ($810 million), a dedicated team of over 1,800, and ongoing use of over 400 test vehicles. Backed by Xiaomi’s AI Lab, the Xiaomi MiMo foundational large model continues to empower R&D in this field.
