Mercedes-Benz’s China-developed technologies will benefit global markets.
On September 7 local time, Mercedes-Benz globally unveiled the all-new all-electric GLC SUV at the 2025 Munich Motor Show.
The all-electric GLC features a completely new design language, with the most striking element at the front being the illuminated grille. Composed of 942 individually backlit points, it can display pixelated dynamic lighting effects.

The side profile incorporates hidden door handles, and the wheelbase has been increased by 84 mm compared to the overseas fuel-powered version, reaching 2,972 mm, providing rear passengers with more generous legroom.
The rear design adopts a full-width taillight assembly with four circular lighting elements inside. The lower section of the rear bumper features a high-gloss black finish, striking a balance between innovative styling and traditional elements.

For the interior, the all-electric GLC is equipped with a 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen—the largest display in Mercedes-Benz’s history—seamlessly integrated across the entire dashboard. The screen utilizes matrix backlighting technology with over 1,000 individual LED bulbs, supporting intelligent zonal dimming that allows different areas to display at varying brightness levels.

Additionally, the new model features an intelligent panoramic sunroof with adjustable opacity, allowing drivers to switch to a frosted effect at the touch of a button to block sunlight. An optional starry sky lighting effect with 162 illuminated stars is also available, synchronizing with the ambient interior lighting.
In terms of powertrain, the all-electric GLC is built on an 800V high-voltage architecture and offers two configurations: a single-motor rear-wheel drive version with a maximum power output of 272 horsepower, and a dual-motor all-wheel drive version with 489 horsepower. An AMG high-performance variant will be launched in the future, boasting a maximum power of 608 horsepower and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4 seconds.

Regarding intelligent technology, the new vehicle is equipped with the latest MB.OS operating system, which comprehensively integrates functions such as infotainment, advanced driver-assistance systems, body control and comfort adjustment, driving dynamics management, and charging management. For driver assistance, the vehicle comes standard with 10 external cameras, 5 radar sensors, and 12 ultrasonic sensors.

Mercedes-Benz officially announced that a China-exclusive version of the all-new all-electric GLC SUV will enter production and go on sale in 2026. Compared to the globally unveiled model, the China-made version will feature a further extended wheelbase and will, for the first time in this model, offer an optional 6-seat layout.
The China-exclusive version will be equipped with urban and highway navigation-assisted driving functions specifically developed for Chinese customers. Locally produced models will also retain localized applications such as the Doubao AI large model with SpeechX voice technology and Mercedes-Benz customized navigation.
