The cooperation between the two parties not only focuses on the domestic market but also places strong emphasis on expanding both domestic and international business.

On September 18, Li Auto and CATL signed a comprehensive five-year strategic cooperation agreement and held an official licensing ceremony.

The two parties will engage in in-depth collaboration on battery safety and ultra-fast charging technology, join forces to expand domestic and international operations, and jointly promote battery technology innovation and global expansion.

As long-term partners, CATL will supply Li Auto’s full range of products with high-performance, high-safety, and high-quality power battery systems, including but not limited to NMC lithium-ion batteries, M3P batteries, LFP batteries, and sodium-ion batteries.

To date, cumulative deliveries of Li Auto vehicles equipped with CATL batteries have exceeded 1 million units. The signing of this agreement marks a further deepening of the collaboration between the two companies.

In recent years, CATL has established deep partnerships with several major automakers, including Geely Auto and Dongfeng Nissan, while continuously innovating in its cooperation models with automotive companies.

In its collaboration with Seres, CATL adopted a “plant-within-a-plant” model, deploying two CTP 2.0 high-end battery pack production lines at Seres’ super factory to locally supply power battery systems for the AITO series. This model is likely to be applied in collaborations with other automakers as well.

Official figures indicate that in the first half of 2025, CATL posted total revenue of RMB 178.9 billion ($25.1 billion), with net profit attributable to shareholders of RMB 30.5 billion ($4.28 billion). Its power battery installations reached 128.6 GWh, representing a 43.05% market share and securing the top spot in China.
