On October 9, 2025, Avatr Technology announced that it had completed the payment of the third installment of the transfer price, totaling RMB 3.45 billion ($484 million), to Huawei. With this, Avatr has cumulatively paid Huawei RMB 11.5 billion ($1.61 billion), finalizing its investment for a 10% equity stake in Yinwang Company held by Huawei.

Previously, Avatr paid the first installment of RMB 2.3 billion ($323 million) in October 2024 and the second installment of RMB 5.75 billion ($807 million) in February 2025. The settlement of this final payment marks the official conclusion of this nearly year-long equity transaction.

Yinwang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. was established on January 16, 2024, and serves as a key vehicle for Huawei’s intelligent automotive solutions.

Its business covers core areas such as intelligent driving, intelligent cockpit, and intelligent vehicle control, undertaking the research, development, and delivery of Huawei’s core technologies in the field of automotive intelligence.

Through this transaction, Avatr has upgraded from being a “user” of Huawei’s technology to the second largest shareholder and a board member of Yinwang, achieving a transition from technology procurement to capital and technology co-development.

The cooperation between Avatr and Huawei began in January 2019. Over the past six years, it has evolved from the initial HI (Huawei Inside) model to the upgraded HI PLUS model. In September this year, with the release of Avatr Strategy 2.0, both parties established an integrated development principle of “One Team, One Goal, One Set of Methods, One Success.” This entails Huawei’s early involvement in product definition and deep participation in marketing operations.

As scheduled, Avatr and Huawei will jointly launch 17 products by 2030, covering segments such as sedans, SUVs, and MPVs. Among these, five upgraded models are set to be released in 2026.
