CATL Times Intelligent Completes First Funding Round, Raising Over $280 Million

CATL Times Intelligent’s valuation has exceeded 10 billion yuan, making it the first unicorn enterprise in the intelligent chassis sector.

On October 11, CATL Times Intelligent completed its first external financing round, raising over 2 billion yuan.

This financing round saw participation from multiple well-known investment institutions, including market-oriented organizations such as Boyu Investment and Guotai Junan, industrial capital like BAIC Capital, and state-owned capital including Shanghai Sci-Tech and Futen Capital.

Following the completion of this financing round, CATL Times Intelligent’s valuation has exceeded 10 billion yuan, making it the first unicorn enterprise in the intelligent chassis sector.

According to official information, the funds from this round will primarily be used for two main purposes: promoting the mass production and rollout of the CATL Bedrock Chassis models, and advancing the research and development of next-generation Bedrock Chassis technology.

Established in 2021, CATL Times Intelligent is a subsidiary of CATL dedicated to the research, development, and industrialization of skateboard chassis technology. Leveraging CATL’s technical expertise in the power battery field, the company has developed the battery-centric “CATL Bedrock Chassis,” a product that highly integrates core chassis components such as the drive system, thermal management system, and intelligent chassis domain control system.

It is worth noting that the CATL Bedrock Chassis adopts a model of “decoupling the upper and lower vehicle body for parallel development,” which can significantly improve vehicle space utilization and energy density, while substantially reducing the development cost and cycle time for new models.

Reportedly, this technology can help automakers complete the development of a new model within 12 to 18 months, at a cost only one-third to one-quarter of that required for self-developed platforms.

Since 2024, CATL Times Intelligent has established a diversified cooperation ecosystem covering passenger vehicles and smart mobility, successively partnering with several domestic brands such as BAIC and Avatr, as well as multiple overseas enterprises in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe for skateboard chassis collaborations.

On September 8 this year, the CATL Bedrock Chassis made its debut at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, Germany, marking the product’s first appearance in the European market.

With the completion of this first financing round, CATL Times Intelligent’s industrialization process is expected to accelerate further. Its subsequent collaborative vehicle models are projected to see a concentrated launch between 2026 and 2027.
