Expected to be priced between RMB 100,000 and RMB 120,000 ($14,060–$16,870), the car will make its official debut during China’s “Double Eleven” shopping festival and be sold exclusively on JD.com.
On October 20, JD.com updated its “National Accessible Car” reservation page with detailed vehicle manufacturing data, marking the first time it has disclosed body-construction specifications.
The model—developed jointly by JD Auto, GAC Group and CATL—has garnered wide market attention since the project was announced.
According to the released information, the vehicle features a high-strength cage-type body structure, with high-strength steel accounting for more than 70% of the body. The front‐end includes a three-dimensional protective framework, improving crash resistance by 18%.

The side structure incorporates a one-piece hot-formed dual-door ring, and the door handles employ a semi-hidden mechanical design that complies with China’s new national standard, using a manufacturing process similar to that of the Tesla Cybertruck.
In terms of overall performance, the vehicle’s curb weight exceeds that of comparable models by approximately 300 kg. The track width has been widened by 45 mm and the tyre width increased by 10 mm, enabling a moose-test speed of over 75 km/h.
In addition to vehicle specifications, JD Auto launched an interactive page inviting users to provide feedback on dimensions including “safety, performance, battery, service, price and appearance”. More than 300,000 users have participated to date.

Concurrently, JD Auto has posted numerous job openings across R&D, supply-chain and user-operations functions on recruitment platforms, with some roles offering annual salaries exceeding one million yuan ($140,700). Insiders say the aim is to build a team ahead of the car’s launch and subsequent user-service ecosystem.
Earlier reports indicate the model’s expected price will range between RMB 100,000 and RMB 120,000 ($14,060–$16,870), and it is scheduled to debut during China’s “Double Eleven” shopping festival.
JD.com will serve as the exclusive online retailer. The vehicle is also expected to adopt CATL’s “Chocolate” battery‐swapping system and may be based on the GAC Aion platform.

Notably, before the official sales launch, the first unit of the “National Accessible Car” (#001) has already appeared on JD.com’s auction channel, with reservations starting at just 1 yuan ($0.14).
Online sign-ups opened on October 17 at 16:00, and the auction itself will begin on October 22 at 14:00, lasting four hours in total. The final transaction price for the #001 car will be determined entirely by user bidding.
As of now, more than 25,000 users have registered on the auction page, making it one of the most-followed automotive projects on JD.com’s platform in recent months.
