With testing well underway, the Denza Z is expected to make its official debut and launch next year.
Recent spy shots have captured the Denza Z, the first concept sports car from BYD’s Denza brand, undergoing road tests at the Nürburgring.
Compared to the concept unveiled earlier in Shanghai, the test vehicle retains most of the design elements while exhibiting a more aggressive, track-ready stance. Its presence at the Nürburgring underscores Denza’s confidence in the model’s performance capabilities.
This development follows the recent achievement of its sister brand, YANGWANG, whose U9 Xtreme set a Nürburgring lap time of 6:59.157, claiming the titles of “Fastest Production EV on the Nürburgring” and “World’s Fastest Production Supercar.”

Whether the Denza Z can emulate the U9 Xtreme’s extreme performance can be glimpsed through its advanced aerodynamics and cutting-edge technology.
The exterior design is highly aggressive. The front fascia is dominated by three large air intakes, flanked by air curtains and a splitter that extends to both sides. The most striking feature is the front light signature, formed by dual ‘L’ and ‘V’ shaped LED strips, creating a unique visual identity.

The wide wheel arches incorporate multiple vents, covering massive brake discs paired with large calipers. The overall aerodynamics are exceptional, with vents integrated into the front and rear wheel arches. The most prominent feature is undoubtedly the large rear spoiler, designed to generate significant downforce at high speeds.

While full powertrain specifications are yet to be officially released, previous reports indicate the production model will feature advanced technologies. These include the “DiSus-M” intelligent magneto-rheological body control system, a steer-by-wire system, and China’s first fully self-developed embedded foldable steering wheel.
Depending on the configuration, the Denza Z will employ a triple-motor system, with an estimated 0-100 km/h acceleration time in the 3-second range. It is reported that the car’s performance will benchmark against the Porsche 911.
With testing well underway, the Denza Z is expected to make its official debut and launch next year.
