  • BYD’s Fangchengbao reached 600,000 cumulative sales in just over three years, reflecting aggressive volume growth driven by rapid model rollouts and expanding segment coverage.
  • Titanium 7 is the primary seller, with 32,144 September units (70%+ of monthly sales); Fangchengbao sold 43,181 vehicles in September and 285,436 year-to-date through September 2026.
  • Targets direct rivals like Tesla Model 3 and Xiaomi SU7 in sedans and aims pickups above RMB 300,000 (about $44,835), but risks include early-stage ramp timing, delivery scaling, and margin pressure.

BYD announced on October 19 that cumulative sales of its Fangchengbao brand had reached 600,000 vehicles.

Since the brand officially unveiled its logo in July 2023, followed by the debut of its first model, the Bao 5, in August that year, Fangchengbao has reached this milestone in just over three years.

In August this year, Fangchengbao announced that cumulative sales had exceeded 500,000 vehicles. It therefore added another 100,000 sales in just two months.

September sales provided the immediate impetus for this growth. Fangchengbao sold 43,181 vehicles during the month, up 79% year over year, and recorded more than 40,000 sales for the third consecutive month.

From January to September 2026, the brand’s cumulative sales reached 285,436 vehicles, already exceeding its full-year 2025 total of approximately 234,000.

By model, the Titanium 7 is currently Fangchengbao’s biggest sales driver.

The SUV sold 32,144 units in September, accounting for more than 70% of the brand’s monthly total.

This included 18,273 units of the hybrid version and 13,871 units of the pure-electric fast-charging version.

According to official data, the Titanium 7 has ranked first in China’s large and mid-size SUV segment and boxy SUV segment for 11 consecutive months.

While the Bao series is primarily positioned around rugged off-road capability, the Titanium 7 caters to a broader range of family-use scenarios, making it a key contributor to Fangchengbao’s expanding sales base.

Other models continue to serve different market segments. In September, the Bao 5 sold 3,889 units, the Bao 8 sold 1,345 units, and the Titanium 3 sold 5,140 units.

Fangchengbao continues to broaden its product lineup. After launching the Bao 5 in November 2023, the brand gradually developed an SUV portfolio centered on the Bao and Titanium series.

On September 16 this year, Fangchengbao launched its first all-electric sedan, the Formula S series.

Formula S is a mid-to-large-size electric sport sedan that takes the brand into a segment where the Tesla Model 3 and Xiaomi SU7 are among the key competitors.

The Fangcheng S series delivered 663 vehicles in its launch month and remains in the early stages of ramping up deliveries.

The company previously said reservations had exceeded expectations and projected monthly sales of 10,000 to 15,000 units.

Pickups represent another potential growth avenue for Fangchengbao.

The Shark, developed by BYD for overseas markets, is scheduled to enter China’s domestic market in the fourth quarter of 2026 and join the Fangchengbao lineup.

Previously released images of the China-spec version show the Fangchengbao logo on the front end and the Shark name on the rear, differing from the badging arrangement on the overseas version.

Based on the current price ranges of the Fangchengbao Bao 5 and Bao 8, the domestically launched Shark is likely to be positioned above RMB 300,000 ($44,835).
