Tesla Extends Model Y Long-Range AWD Delivery Window to 8–13 Weeks in China

Tesla China extended Model Y Long-Range AWD delivery timeframes and launched a referral program with customization credits.

On November 24, Tesla China announced on Weibo that the expected delivery timeframe for the Model Y Long-Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) has been updated to 8–13 weeks.

At the same time, Tesla launched a limited referral incentive program. Customers who place an order under the referral campaign by November 30 will receive RMB 8,000 ($1,120) in paint customization credits. For select configurations, buyers can also apply for a limited-time five-year zero-interest financing plan.

This marks the second delivery adjustment this month. On November 19, Tesla updated expected delivery windows for the Model Y Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Long-Range AWD versions to 4–13 weeks.

Tesla launched the refreshed Model Y on January 10 this year, with production beginning in February at the Shanghai Gigafactory.

The updated lineup includes RWD and Long-Range RWD variants, priced from RMB 263,500 ($36,890) and RMB 303,500 ($42,490) respectively.

On March 18, Tesla raised the price of the Model Y Long-Range AWD by RMB 10,000 ($1,400), bringing the current starting price to RMB 313,500 ($44,110).

In July, Tesla announced upgrades to the Model Y Long-Range AWD, increasing its CLTC range from 719 km to 750 km while maintaining the RMB 313,500 ($44,110) starting price.

The current Model Y lineup in China consists of four trims: RWD (from RMB 263,500 / $37,070), Long-Range RWD (from RMB 288,500 / $40,590), Long-Range AWD (from RMB 313,500 / $44,110), and the six-seat Model Y L (from RMB 339,000 / $47,700).

Globally, Tesla delivered 497,000 vehicles in Q3, up 7.4% year-on-year.

However, due to declines in the first half, cumulative deliveries from Q1 to Q3 decreased approximately 5.9% year-on-year. Deliveries of the Model 3/Y reached 481,000 units, up 9.4% year-on-year.

In China, Tesla delivered 169,200 vehicles in the third quarter, up 31% quarter-on-quarter.
