GAC Taps Seyond for LiDAR Supply as 2026 Mass Production Planned

Under the agreement, Seyond will provide high-performance LiDAR hardware along with perception software solutions for GAC’s designated model.

On December 16, China’s LiDAR supplier Seyond announced that it has secured a designated supply partnership with GAC Group, with the first jointly developed vehicle scheduled to enter mass production in 2026.

Based on publicly available information, the nomination involves one of GAC’s new energy vehicle brands.

Under the agreement, Seyond will provide high-performance LiDAR hardware along with perception software solutions for the designated model.

The partnership is built on GAC’s R&D capabilities spanning L2 to L4 autonomous driving and its large-scale market presence.

It is expected to provide Seyond’s Robin E1X LiDAR product with extensive real-world deployment scenarios and data validation opportunities.

At the product level, Seyond has established a dual-track portfolio centered on the high-performance Falcon series and the platform-oriented Robin series.

To date, the company’s nominated customers include more than 14 domestic automakers and autonomous driving companies.

The Falcon series adopts a 1550 nm technical route and has been delivered across nine NIO models, with cumulative shipments exceeding 600,000 units, positioning it as a mature product validated through long-term, large-scale deployment.

The Robin series, by contrast, is based on 905 nm and 940 nm routes and targets the broader mass market.

Notably, Robin W has already supported NIO’s fourth-generation battery swap stations, enabling coverage across nine vertical and nine horizontal corridors spanning 19 major urban clusters.

This dual-technology strategy allows Seyond to meet the performance and redundancy requirements of advanced autonomous driving while also adapting to the cost constraints of vehicles priced around RMB 100,000 ($14,000).

Against the backdrop of automakers emphasizing scalable and production-ready solutions, the approach offers practical advantages.

Delivery figures reflect this trend. In the first nine months of 2025, Seyond delivered approximately 181,000 automotive-grade LiDAR units, representing a year-on-year increase of 7.7%. The Falcon series alone has now surpassed 600,000 units in cumulative deliveries.

On December 10, the company listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Exchange via a De-SPAC transaction, becoming the third Chinese LiDAR manufacturer to go public in Hong Kong.

On Seyond’s debut day, the share price briefly rose above HKD 17, with an intraday gain peaking at 73.1%.
