- Xiaomi teases its first all-electric hypercar with radical aerodynamic styling and center cockpit.

Photos of an all-new Xiaomi model have surfaced, with the vehicle covered in black camouflage and featuring a highly prominent aerodynamic design.
It is expected to make its debut at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March and is poised to become Xiaomi’s first all-electric hypercar.
On February 27, a fan provided ChinaEV Home with images of a suspected new Xiaomi model.
From the published photos, the suspected new Xiaomi model is covered with heavy black camouflage, with only the rear wheel and a corner of the wheel arch exposed. The rear wheel rim is printed with the “xiaomi” logo, strongly suggesting a connection to the Xiaomi brand.

Its most striking feature is an exaggerated aerodynamic design. The body is long and low-slung, with the cockpit positioned in the center, somewhat similar to the SSC Tuatara from Shelby SuperCars.
The wheel design is equally bold, featuring a single-spoke “straight-line” style. Beneath its highly aggressive appearance likely lies Xiaomi’s most advanced electric drive technology.
At present, the official has not released any information about this model. Its positioning can only be inferred from its exterior and styling.
Notably, the new car was spotted in Barcelona in late February, making it highly likely to debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March, becoming a major highlight at Xiaomi’s booth.

This never-before-seen model is expected to be unveiled first as a concept car, potentially positioned as Xiaomi’s first pure electric hypercar.
Combined with Xiaomi’s lap-time efforts at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with the SU7 Ultra Prototype, this model could also serve as a preview version for Xiaomi to enter top-tier global electric motorsport events.
Of course, if it only appears at MWC, it cannot be ruled out that the vehicle is meant to showcase Xiaomi’s digital chassis technology as a concept.
Chinese pure electric hypercars are nothing new. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype previously achieved an impressive lap time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife — a latest time of 6:22.091, ranking third on the global leaderboard. Its production version also outperformed the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT at the Shanghai International Circuit.
BYD’s Yangwang U9X has claimed titles at both the Nürburgring Nordschleife and the ATP Papenburg test track in Germany:
- the first production electric hypercar to break the 7-minute barrier at the Nürburgring,
- and the world’s fastest production car by top speed.
Earlier, NIO’s pure electric hypercar EP9 also set a record for the fastest production car at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 6:45.900.
Interestingly, some sources claim this new Xiaomi model will be limited to just 6 units, with Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun as one of the buyers. It could be said that even before Xiaomi officially announced its entry into car manufacturing, Lei Jun already had connections with domestic Chinese electric hypercars.
Meanwhile, iconic supercar brand Ferrari is moving forward with its first all-electric sports car, the Luce, which has been officially announced with interior designs revealed. It will be equipped with a 122 kWh liquid-cooled battery pack, delivering up to 1,000 horsepower and an 880V system voltage.
The new car is expected to launch this May, and Ferrari’s first pure electric sports car is drawing intense industry attention.
Several other new energy automakers also have plans for pure electric hypercars, such as the JIYUE ROBO X. There are also rumors that Lucid will unveil its first pure electric hypercar this May.
Hypercars represent the pinnacle of an automaker’s cutting-edge technology. They elevate brand positioning while setting the direction for the company’s development in the years ahead.
As for the exact purpose and positioning of this still-unseen model, we will have to wait for Xiaomi to reveal the answer at MWC.
